Dan “Frodan” Chou has just announced on Twitter that he’ll be stepping down from casting Hearthstone Grandmasters, next season and beyond. He didn’t give an official reason, but per his own words, he’ll be replaced with “deserving people like Lorinda and upcoming women in the community”. We aren’t sure if it means that he won’t cast any Hearthstone events or just Grandmasters in particular.
Frodan has started his Hearthstone career as a host of Fight Night events early in 2014 (back when the game was still in Beta). Ever since then, he kept casting popular events, until he landed a gig as one of the casters for the official Blizzard events like Masters Tour & Grandmasters. He’s been one of the most well-known Hearthstone personalities and we can’t wait to find out what he’s going to do next. No matter what it is, we all wish him the best!
After much consideration, I have decided to step away from casting Hearthstone Grandmasters next season and beyond.
I’ll be replaced by deserving people like @LorindaGames and upcoming women in the community.
Thanks for all the support over the years. I’ll be forever grateful.

you can get new casters that doesnt have to be wahmen you know…
He was the hands down the best personality they had for their esports events. If I tuned in, and Frodan wasn’t the one covering the matches, I tuned out. This is a big loss for them. And, they deserve him leaving.
Yeah he’s the best caster by far. This is probably a mutually beneficial breakup so that he follows the bandwagon and steps away from the company that no-one wants to be associated with right now whether that’s right or wrong, and Blizzard gets to act like it’s to reverse their bad behavior and promote women. Opportunists and their timing.
Always liked this guy + Brian Kibler, informative and fun to watch.
This hurts. Probably my favorite caster. Great insight over every match he casted. Best of luck.
