This year’s Hearthstone Fire Festival starts today, on July 6. The first week brings probably the most important thing for many of you – freebies!
A chain of seven Legendary Quests will appear – you should automatically start each after finishing the previous one. The first six Quests will reward players with a Year of the Phoenix pack – not the best, but not the worst either (especially if you just came back to the game or started this year and miss a lot of the last year’s cards). However, the final one will give players a unique Druid alternate Hero portrait – Druid of the Flame Malfurion. While Blizzard is bringing back some older Hero portraits, for now many of the ones unique to past events (like Fire Festival or Hallow’s End) are still locked to their original owners, so it might be your only chance to get it in a long time.
Those Legendary Quests will only be granted until July 27 at 10 AM PT, which means that you have exactly 3 weeks to finish all of them. It shouldn’t be a difficult task, but keep in mind that there’s a time limit so don’t postpone completing them for too long. Here’s a full list of Fire Festival 2021 quests:
- Enter the Firelands – Play 10 Fire Spells.
- Fires of Competition – Play 3 games in Ranked Play Mode.
- A Fiery Duel – Play 3 games of Duels.
- Righteous Flames – Play 3 games as Paladin.
- Beasts of Burn-den – Play 3 games as Hunter.
- Embrace the Firelord – Play 10 games as Shaman.
- Happy Fire Festival – Play 3 games as Druid.
Update: Just to clarify, some people report that they got their Quests in a different order than above. So don’t worry if you’re one of them.
Players can also purchase a bundle of three amazing Hero portraits in Eternal Flame Bundle – read more about it here.
The next stop is tomorrow, with an event-themed Tavern Brawl. We’ll get to play Ragnaros’ Fire Festival Tavern Brawl – the last time we’ve seen it back in 2018, so it’s been 3 years. The game starts with a Mini-Rag on the battlefield, which grows stronger every time it kills something (and switches side each turn).
But there’s still more to come in Fire Festival, including another fire-themed Tavern Brawl and Battlegrounds cosmetics dropping July 27. Learn more about Fire Festival in this post.
If u open those packs after the next expansion came out, do u get United in Stormwind cards aswell?
The rewards is 6 Year of Phoenix packs. You won’t get any cards from Barrens or Stormwind expansion. No need to hoard the packs.
Year of the phoenix pack, so nothing change.
Good to see that we will get Malfurion. I don’t like lunara or the tree. But I also don’t like the look of Malfurion too much. Druid is just not my class in terms of aesthetics or gameplay.
So that people who have bought the new hero skins have reason to use them? And as Ragnaros skin is the coolest, you play mlre games with him. 😉
6 Free packs and bonus portrait? Sign me in.
But why 10 games with Shaman tho? The rest is only 3 games.
If this how they do ‘balance’, then it’s total nonsense.
I think it’s because Ragnaros is the most hyped fire festival skin compared to the Hunter and Paladin ones.
You don’t even get the shaman hero for free, what do you even get hype for? For someone with money to spend, sure. But to F2P? This is totally nonsense.
What the hell would a F2P even have to complain about? It’s not as if the skins are P2W. They’re purely cosmetic.
At least Shaman is viable now, it would be a nightmare to do it when the class was in the dumpster :p
Yeah, sure. The agonizing part is, I’m still gonna grind those 10 plays just because I wanted that free pack so bad.
You heard me Blizzard. I’ll freaking do your quest because there’s nothing I can do to change it. So, complain is all I can do.
And well, guess what.
Turns out I’ve got one legendary in that last pack. The Nameless One.
I guess complaining can be rewarding somehow.
It’s all good now.
I need to start complaining that I don’t earn enough money now, maybe I’ll win a lottery or something, haha.
