February 2019 Season (#59) has just started! The nerf patch is coming soon, so it will mostly be a season of meta shaping up. No one really knows what it will look like a few weeks from now! On top of that, the recently announced ranked play changes go live. You will only need 3 stars (down from 5) to advance between Ranks 50 and 16, and 4 stars (down from 5) between Ranks 15 and 11. It will speed the climb through lower ranks considerably.
New season also means a new card back. Win 5 Ranked games (either Standard or Wild) to earn it.
The February 2019 Ranked Play Season is now live—and we’re unveiling a new card back you can add to your collection!
Dough-n’t wait for your time to rise in the ranks, because you won’t want to miss out on the freshest card back ever to grace Hearthstone. Only the upper crust of players will be able to acquire the Pizza Stone card back! Olive this card back, and we’re sure you’ll love it too.
These card backs replace the art decorating the reverse side of your cards and are a great way to show off your Hearthstone accomplishments. Add the Pizza Stone card back to your collection by winning 5 games at any Rank in either Standard or Wild Ranked Play modes. You’ll receive your new card back at the end of February’s Ranked Play Season in your Ranked Play reward chest.
You earn Ranked Play reward chests based on your highest earned rank over the course of a Ranked Play season. Reward chests may contain seasonal card backs, Arcane Dust, and golden cards, and can be obtained by playing in either Standard or Wild Ranked Play modes. You’ll be awarded one chest per Ranked Play season based on your highest rank between the two modes.
Don’t forget—the further you move up the Ranked Play ladder, the more of a head start you’ll get on climbing the ladder the following month. After the Ranked Play season ends, you’ll be reset four Ranks below the highest Rank you achieved the previous season once the new season begins. If you manage to reach Legend, you’ll be reset to Rank 4. Don’t forget, the number of Stars you need to rank up has been reduced for most ranks.
