Game Designer Alec Dawson has just announced some of the nerf reverts (for cards rotating out of Standard) planned for Patch 20.0. Keep in mind that the patch will release a few days BEFORE expansion’s release and rotation, which means that for a few days we’ll still have the current meta, just with multiple card changes. It should be really interesting!
For now, nerf reverts for 3 classes were announced. More will be announced tomorrow.
Current version is on the left side, unnerfed version is on the right side.
Druid
Hunter
Mage
Note: Mana Wyrm nerf is only partially reverted – it’s now a 1 mana 1/2. The reason is that the card is very likely to come back to Standard at one point. Wyrm Weaver, a card that will remain in Standard (since it’s from Scholomance), is also getting changed because changing Mana Wyrm to 1/2 effectively nerfs it.
When the 20.0 patch goes live later this month, there’ll be a number of nerf reverts. This is before content unlock/rotation, so for a short period of time there will be a very interesting Standard meta. When considering reverts for 2021, we also considered future rotations. 1/4

Hunter’s mark should cost 0 if you revert the nerf. And even if it were at 0 hunter it’s still bad in wild.
Omg, RIP whizzbang. The power spike to wild and the power drop in standard will make my dearest golden gnome even more underpowered… amazing tears
I wonder if this will be enough to finally give Hunter some consistently viable Wild archetypes at last? The prospect of actual card draw makes me want to dig out Vereesa and string together some kind of midrange Maly hunter, although a more traditional straight beast build is probably still much better.
As a wild player this is huge!! Starving Buzzard FINALLY!! <3 And even the mana Wyrm revert/change is gonna be huge!!!
If not, then the powercreep is real.
And for the fun charge deck Brann can now more easily combo with dire frenzy.
Why would u want to shuffle 9 mana king krushs in ur highlander deck ? lmaooo and brann is 7, dire frenzy is 4.
Just a fun deck I built before with only charge dinosaurs as beast, where you can pull them out from your deck and hand. Where dire frenzy in some cases can give a quick refill (after a simple mana reduction). As I said just a fun charge that can surprise your opponent, but now I can play it again.
ok i understand now, yeah, true, i’ve tried it my self, i thought u were talking about an obscure brann+dire frenzy the king krush combo, mb.
Ah ok I see. 🙂
