Demon Hunter Nerfs Coming With Battlegrounds’ Patch 29.2 On April 16

Good news, everyone! RidiculousHat has just confirmed that the upcoming patch 29.2, a big Battlegrounds update, will also come with some Standard nerfs to Demon Hunter. The class is currently dominating across the whole ladder without showing any signs of stopping. Doubly so in high Diamond, where it sits at a staggering 35-40% popularity rate. It’s not completely uncounterable, but the counter decks often suffer from other poor matchups, making it a really frustrating experience.

Normally X.2 updates are focused solely on Battlegrounds and they rarely come with changes for other formats, although it did happen a few times in the past. This time the team has decided that waiting another 9-14 days (which is the usual balance changes windows after a big update) would be too much. The post also confirms that the upcoming Masters Tour (happening next weekend) will be played on the current patch

In another reply, Hat confirmed that Demon Hunter is the only class that will get changed in the patch (a bigger balance update will come at the usual time post-patch). As for the targeted cards, we obviously don’t know it, but it’s safe to assume that either Umpire's Grasp or Window Shopper will be the main target. This combo is the main culprit of the current Demon Hunter’s power level.

29.2 patch notes are set to drop on April 11, so that’s when we’ll most likely learn how Demon Hunters get changed.

I had to play DH to get to Legend. Alternative is to wait 10 days. The decks I faced are mirror, reno Warrior and rainbow DK. It’s basicly a 3-deck meta atm.

Hearthstone finally broke the game in its entirety. It is unplayable, and waiting 10 days for them to fix it is mind-blowing

You’re talking about the 75%+ win rate paladin decks that they rolled into 75%+ win rate DH right?

Meta has been messed up a lot longer than 10 days.

But hey, first, everyone made Pally decks, then they made DH decks. Now after the next round of nerfs, people will make another deck.

I’ve been saying this for years, this is how they make $$$ now. There is no money in a stable meta.
