Mulligans
Hello everyone, my name is Filric and I want to discuss some potential decklists for the future Standard environment after the release of the new expansion “Kobolds & Catacombs”. This in particular is a twist of a typical Zoo Warlock Decklist, that replaces the Pirate package ( Patches the Pirate and Southsea Captain), Prince Keleseth and other minions such as Saronite Chain Gang and Darkshire Councilman as a reward for swarming the board in the early turns.
I prefer to test right after the release this version instead, a more Demon-centric one that allows you to play more minions in the 2-mana slot without worries about Prince Keleseth activations, and while it seems to be at first glance a huge loss, it makes some room for key tech cards such as Golakka Crawler and Acidic Swamp Ooze. The key to pilot this deck is to preserve your minions on the board, while searching for your Demon buffs (Demonfire , Bloodfury Potion and Crystalweaver ) and eventually win through burst damage via Soulfire or Doomguard.
You should play this deck aggressively, Bloodreaver Gul'dan is a safe-insurance policy for the late game but you have to start controlling the board since Turn 2, because your buffs won’t be useful as long as you control no demons. The new minions, Kobold Librarian andVulgar Homunculus, give you card advantage while paying some life in the process, and so does your Hero Power, but the payoff comes in the form of a 7/7 Hooked Reaver. Bonemare will still be a popular choice, but I instead chose Cobalt Scalebane as a cheaper additional way to buff other Demons.
Maybe this decklist seems too reckless, so let me know if the Demon payoff is worthy enough or you should tune the pre-existing Prince Keleseth version instead.
