I find this deck really fun to play with. Is there an update for the new season?
Nothing at the moment, I’ll be on the look out.
Very fun deck to play.
The only change I’ve done is Medhiv by Velen as I don’t have it yet.
It is a very strong control deck, playing some long games, but it is very successfull
I like it.
Though, mind vision en thoughtsteal are too rng dependant imo. I replaced those with holy smite and Forbidden shaping.
Also the doomsayers are alright, but not something you want to ressurect, so I dropped those for 1 ooze and 1 harrison. Which makes the shaman encounter a lot more favorable 🙂
I like seeing the attempt to put shadowform under the spotlight again. However, as fun as this deck may seem, the win condition and card synergy this deck offers just don’t seem to cut it.
This deck lacks heavily in its early game board presence which justifies the amount of removals. However, I don’t think removals alone would be enough to carry this deck to post 7 mana turns where it can truly game some work done. Lets consider some likely in-game scenarios. Mid Shamans could have developed Trogg + Golem + Feral Spirit and a Claw equipped by Turn 4. That is no easy clear with any combination of cards at 5 mana this deck offers. It also struggles to deal with a lot of the great 4 atk drops such as Azure drake (in nearly 90% of the ladder decks). I mean…against double Azure drake on turn 5/6 is really close to an auto-concede for this deck.
It is very clear what this deck is trying to achieve:
1-5 mana : Stablize the board and minimize early threats (Doomsayer + resurrect or removal spells)
6-9 mana : Develop 2 stage shadowform. Out-value your opponent with Meh..div and Golems
9+ mana : Finish the game with direct face spell damage
Some solid improves that can be made:
1-5 mana : Use Injured blademaster + resurrect combo for better board control instead of Doomsayers. This also makes it a lot easier to invest mana in shadowform, thoughtsteal, etc and not have to worry too much about losing board control.
6-9 mana : Use Syvannas (entomb with 5/5 body) and Prophet Velen for better tempo and finisher instead of Meh..div ( C’mon…It is just not cool to exclude Velen from the shadowform party )
Overall, it could definitely be a deck packed with a lot of fun and surprising outcomes. It would also be heartwarming to see shadow priest making a come-back.
Your suggestions seem like a much more solid deck.
I would love to include Achunai Soulpriest + CoH for a 4 damage board wipe but it just doesn’t fit into the deck.
Also Justicar + Soulpriest gives a stronger hero power than shadow form, though obviously less reliable
i do not agree with the blademasters at all. They rely on the resurrect combo to work but if you dont have both cards blademaster is just strictly worse vs aggro. It gets traded away by a 2 or even 1 mana minion when you could have a doomsayer instead that slows your opponent down.
I removed Emperor with Shifting Shade. This deck revolves around stealing cards in the opponent deck, so you need to know your classes. Most aggro decks will win against you, especially aggro warrior. But this is the only priest deck I have a positive win rate with above rank 15.
0-5 Lose streak with this piece of shit deck. Any aggro walks over it and other control decks are just stronger. Spend the start mulliganing away 5-8 drops only to draw more and waiting to draw something i can use. Don’t use Zetalot decks, waste of dust
any replacement for second shadowform please
I replaced it with Yogg and it’s actually won me 3 games already
My modification

10-0 winsteak. Right mulligan – 99% of win. Zoolocks – crying against me )))/
I’m obviously not Zetalot, but I’ve had nothing but trouble using the 2x Resurrect. Considering that the board presence in this deck is fairly limited, I kept finding that I’d get bad RNG and resurrect a Doomsayer, which would then clear my own board.
I’ve replaced those with 2x Museum Curator to look for more minions. It seems to be working better so far, though considering the prevalence of weapon classes, I may simply do 2x Acidic Swamp Ooze. Gives me an early game minion against aggressive decks, or acts as a tech card against the rampant Warrior/Hunter/Shaman decks.
Has anyone else found a good replacement for the 2x Resurrect in this deck?
I won ressurecting doomsayers and pyromancers and you need it to reduce the giants.
In my opinion. This deck requieres including the powerful combo prophet velen + 2x mind blast. Which cards should be replaced? Depends on the rank and the weekly most used deck.

Entomb is such a slow card, I’ve never really been a big fan of it yet it seems to be in every priest deck. Had it really affected that many games in a positive way? Or is it just that there’s really nothing better to put in the 6 mana slot?
You can run boulderfist ogre or grim patron. I think those are the only valid subs for entomb right now.
Are you serious here or it’s just a troll?
Entomb is almost entirely for the Control Warrior tech, and one of the main reasons it’s a positive matchup. It’s also pretty good against Savannah Highmane. Both reasons it’s a 2 of and important.
Not necessarily. Entomb at 6 mana doesn’t generate immediate tempo advantage for this deck when used as a mid-game single target removal. With premium removal spells such as Pain, Death, Evil or even holy fire, 2 copies of Entomb would just be 2 dead cards in the hand for post-Medivh tempo advantage. Against hunter, druid, Syvannas simply represents much more immediate threat on the board than entomb, especially against drops like highmane, acient of war, giants and rag. As a priest main myself, I’ve learned games when I had to use both Entombs make up less than 15% of the games. That is why Syvannas and 1 copy of entomb synergies better with most priest decks.
Entomb is also great against Deathrattle Decks..against Tirion and Sylvanas especially..
Also it’s what makes your C’Thun warriors concede if you entomb their C’Thun which does not let them bring it back with Doomcaller.
And as mentioned before..in any control matchup and for Savannah Highmane it’s great.
Is this deck good to ladder?
He’s been ranking up, but obviously Zetalot is one of the best Priest players in the world, so I’m not sure it would be good for your average player. I would treat this more as a fun deck to try.
Any deck is good on ladder if you can do the following 2 things:
a) Understand the deck in and out
b) Snipe opponents who are weak against your deck
Looks fun!
