I feel like this deck needs Excavated Evil. This deck will get absolutely slaughtered by a decent opener from Shaman. You can’t bank everything on drawing a 2 card combo by turn 4-5.
Wild Pyro just seems bad in this meta. It can’t clear most Shaman board states on turn 2-3 since nearly all of their early game has 3 hp.
Like others I question the Thoughtsteals. I don’t like the inclusion at all. Too many decks doing very specific strategies and have cards that will not synergize with the other 28 cards in this deck. Just imagine grabbing Jade stuff or dragon synergy stuff for example. People are saying ‘why two’ but I’m saying why include any at all?
Not playing Dragon Operative just feels wrong. That card is absolutely insane.
Kudos for not including Dragonfire Potion. I think that was the most hyped card of the set and many people are realizing it’s only situationally good. Glad to see someone is tinkering with this build and wish Zeta good luck making regular old control priest work.
Honestly I think Pint Sized Potion + Shadow Word Horror is stronger than the Auchenai + Circle combo. It doesn’t care about health, which is great against big butts, and it’s also a 1 sided board clear (generally).
Pint size potion can also be used for WAYYY favourable trades and Cabal Shadow Priest.
And as for Dragonfire pot. I like it, but it’s definitely a 1 of in any deck that wants it.
And yeah Drakonid is great but if you’re gonna run it then you’re running Dragon Priest.
As for Pyro, the only time I use him is in a deck with Acolyte. So much card draw. Could just use doomsayers instead?
Thought steal is absolute trash. Talonpriest is easy replacement
I believe the thoughtsteals are meant to combo with pyro with or without PW:S. In general, thoughtsteals can be replaced quite easily with another card that usually brings in more value. I played a couple of games on casual and easily wipe my opponents board with auchenai soulpriest and circle of healing. As long as you can survive by turn 3 with coin or turn 4 you should be in a decent position to reach mid to late game.
I mean control priest needs to draw its combos to do anything vs aggro and without a reliable draw engine it often doesn’t end up happening. The wild pyros are a staple to try and alleviate this with northshire/spell/circle (a four card combo itself) that can maybe do some work by if you have the coin; and if you’re running circle you might as well run Auchenai. At the end of the day you’re better off playing a curve deck like dragon priest because hearthstone just favors it, has better consistency, and that has access to a broken card like operative. He’s probably playing control priest because the whole dragon or Reno thing has been wrung out. I think doomsayers in this deck would improve your aggro matchup if that’s what you’re worried about.
From what I’ve kinda understood from watching a few of his decks and trying them, is that Zetalot has his own style of playing priest that is .. different than how a lot of other people play priest.
If we go in a control mirror, which is the win condition? I doubt Thoughtsteal would steal anything major that they wouldn’t be able to remove, would Elise be a good addition?
What controlemirror? You cannot outvalue Jade. You only had Elise in the deck vs the mirror and against ctrlwarrior. Both are nonexistent in the ladder. Against dragonpriest/renomage you win by simply removing everything and win fatigue due to heal4>ping1 so what for?
Hi Evident, what do you think about replacing Justicar with Ysear for late game? We’ve lots of healings anyway. thanks
I don’t mind that, but Justicar can really help heal you out of danger consistently.

There are two thoughtsteals in this deck. Isn’t that too much to have in this meta with so many people running aggro decks?
wattabout using elise instead of 1 cabal shadow priest?

I’ve beaten Jade and Renomage with this deck. Haven’t vsed Dragon priest. Pirate Warrior is 50/50.
I replaced thought steal with fel orc soulfiend
