Im finding myself hving more success with this deck as i play it more and gain experience with it.
For some reasons combo dragon priests seem to work only on high rank (5-legend) as quite a number of players reached legend with this archetype. However it sucks for laddering from 20-5 as there are more variety of experimental decks which can disrupt your plan to combo.
I do not understand how to run this damn deck. Just getting my ass kicked. Run over by jade druids or blocked by millions of taunts by warlock, or ground into dust by aggro decks.
Agreed…
I guess as a combo deck all u had to do is survive early on and draw as many cards as u can till round 6/7 and u’ll get enough cards in your hand to choose whatever combo you need then…
didn’t try this deck yet but i’ve played a lot of combo decks that people used to say about them trash …
dunno at the end maybe you guys are right!!
Just going to try and give a little insight. I’m actually not a regular on this site so I don’t know if you’ll see this or not.
Breaking down the issues you listed.
Jade Druid: You have to find your combo here, while staying aggressive. So mulligan for cycle and combo pieces. You’re going to lose if you try to play a control game. Buffing up a minion to 6/6+ (you have 2 inner fires you can use one early here, try to save divine spirit though) turn 1-3 is incredibly powerful as jade druid doesn’t have any good single target removal. Keep in mind spreading plague for turn 6 and try to have an answer for it. If your early game aggression doesn’t just snowball into a win try to have answers for spreading plague and burst them in one turn with the combo.
Warlock: very similar to the Jade druid game plan, however I would keep at least one silence on the mulligan, also potion of madness is much stronger in this matchup
Aggro: Depending on how much aggro you are seeing it may be worthwhile to add in 2x priest of the feast and dropping 2x curious glimmerroots. Potion of madness is your friend here, but you also always want duskbreakers with an activator. The best hand against aggro (using the list provided in the main post) in my opinion is going to look like: duskbreaker, netherspite historian, inner fire or PW:S, and northshire cleric.
Good luck!
