Mulligans
Baku the Mooneater, Phantom Militia, and Azalina Soulthief had me feeling pretty inspired when it was announced yesterday, so I thought I’d attempt to revive one of my favorite archetypes, Control Warrior! While making this in the style of classic Elise Control, I realized the incredible potential for a Quest Warrior deck. The deck only has odd-cost cards, which enable the (insane) effect of Baku the Mooneater from turn 1. Because the deck runs Fire Plume's Heart, I put in less high-cost cards, because DIE, INSECT! more than makes up for the lack of endgame. Phantom Militia looks to help the archetype greatly with its awesome versatility. Finally, with Auctionmaster Beardo, Burgly Bully, and the many low-cost spells, insane damage is possible with the hero power that Fire Plume's Heart provides. Azalina Soulthief is incredibly potent in a control vs. control matchup in this deck specifically because you can reload your hand with all the dead spells your opponent kept over the course of the control game, which means more fuel for Auctionmaster Beardo.
Seems pretty good, right?
Sir Lancelop – Author, do you realize that MSoG, Karazhan and WotG are getting rotated out of standard (so no Ravaging Ghoul, I Know a Guy, etc.)? If this is a wild deck, then there’s a whole bunch of cards like Sludge Belcher that I don’t understand why you’re not using.
if your making a wild deck, why not include stuff like sludge belcher?
gotta be that guy and say it. whats the point in theorycrafting this when only 6 cards from the new set have been released? why did you even waste your time?
‘Cause its fun? Question is, why are you even bothering looking at theorycrafts when only 6 cards have been revealed anyhow?
Auction master beardo is absolutely terrible in this deck
Dunno how well it’ll actually perform, but I respectfully disagree.
