Mulligans

General Mulligans

  1. Secret Keeper: because having a 1 mana 2,3 or even 3,4 in the early game is very powerful. If you get Secret Keeper in your pre-mulligan hand, then you should keep a secret if you have one to pair with it.
  2. Call To Arms: CTA is a good mulligan keep, especially with the coin. 5 mana summon a board is still pretty good, and if you pull Loot Hoarder it also acts as card draw. Besides loot hoarder, CTA could give you either super sticky minions (Minibot & Creeper) or must-removes (Juggler & Keeper).
  3. Muster for battle: Muster for battle is a great turn 3, the original call to arms. complete with 3 bodies for you to use in synergy with Juggler and Competitive Spirit. Plus a 1,4 weapon.
  4. Bellringer Sentry: Start slinging those secrets early, helping to protect or buff your existing board.
  5. Minibot, Juggler, and Creeper are all good 2 drops and can be used for early board presence & tempo
Yup. Santa Clause is coming to town, so better watch out for these annoying Christmas trees, decorated with little yellow secret bulbs, courtesy of yours truly, Mysterious Challenger.
This deck varies from the current standard’s meta of aggro paladin. Instead of being even (dying to the CTA nerf), odd, or murloc, this particular decklist brings back the old cancer that plagued paladin: SECRETS!
This decklist contains 8 secrets, most of which you actually want to stay in your deck. They have activators such as Bellringer Sentry and Mysterious Challenger, that pull them from your deck and onto the battlefield, making it super difficult for your opponent to play around all of them.
This deck also contains 8 2 drops, as it is an aggro deck and contains Call to Arms. Even after it’s nerfed to 5 mana, the card is still strong in most aggro decks. CTA fits especially into this deck because it’s only minions that cost 2 or less, are 2 drops (with the exception of Secretkeeper, who is incredibly synergistic in this deck), making the card 5 mana for 6 mana value. The reason for selecting the 2 drops that I did was their synergy with Redemption. Redemption is a powerful secret when used correctly, and can often make or break the early game.
Muster for Battle was included because of how good it is in aggro decks, and because of its synergy with Competitive Spirit.
Some cards to consider adding to this deck would be Leeroy Jenkins and Prince Liam. Leeroy Jenkins could be added if you feel yourself needing a bit more reach to close games before your opponent can recover, and Prince Liam could be added if you’re games are consistently being dragged longer than normal. Liam allows you to turn your 1 cost secrets (which are often dead draws late game) into legendary minions (which sometimes aren’t that good, but are often better than the original secret).
