Update: Necronlord’s Jeweled Scarab Midrange Hunter

Greetings Traveler,

this is my midrange Hunter. It’s pretty standard but i chance one Unleash the Hounds and one Ironbeak Owl for two Jeweled Scarab because i think it’s one of the best card from LOE for Hunter because the 3 Drops from Hunter are realy strong.

Mulligang Guide

Everytime look for your Webspinner, Haunted Creeper and Animal Companion. A Mad Scientist is very good against decks with tempo (Aggro, Midrange, Tempo) but i think playing the secrets directly is better against Control and some Combo Decks. Keep your Quick Shot or Eaglehorn Bow against decks with problematic 2 or 3 live drops (Mana Wyrm, Tunnel Trogg, Darnassus Aspirant, Knife Juggler). An Unleash the Hounds is nice against decks with many minions (Hunter, Paladin) but pretty useless against control. (That’s the Reason why I cut one. Against control you don’t need it and against aggro you can discover one from your Jeweled Scarab).

Strategy

Use your Haunted Creeper, Knife Juggler and Mad Scientist to controll the board. Animal Companion is a very strong 3-Drop. Don’t be afraid to use your Kill Command as a removal – you have enough big Minions to finish your enemy. Your Houndmaster is nice to create suprising trades or big taunts and Savannah Highmane is one of the beest 6-Drops in the game – play it at round 6 except your enemy can clear it easy. Use your Ironbeak Owl to silence something problematic. If you can remove a Sludge Belcher without problems, keep it for something more important. Finish your enemy with your Savannah Highmanes and Dr. Boom. Loatheb is nice for buying time or secure your finishing round.

Card Tips

• Play your Jeweled Scarab at round 2 if you don’t have a nice 2- and 3-Drop. Play it at round 5 to play your discovered card instant.
• Knife Juggler combined with Unleash the Hounds or a traded Haunted Creeper is nice for clearing boards full of minions
• Houndmaster and Unleash the Hounds gives you a 3/3 Minion with charge and taunt.
• Play your secrets manually against big drops. A Freezing Traped Alextrasza is the best you can do.
