Based off the Oaken Summons version we have seen with Druid, this version utilizes the Gadgetzan Auctioneer along with cheap spells for massive draw power in a deck that contains considerable draw power in cards like Nourish, Branching Paths and Ultimate Infestation.
Branching Paths has a lot of value when it comes to specific matches. Against the popular Secret Mage decks running around, the armor gain is usually prioritized next to the draw. Similar to the strategy used against Highlander Priest, if you armor up passed a point, Mage just can’t win especially if they have Aluneth on field. Of course, Counterspell can be annoying but you have cheap spells to waste for it for the most part. Usually their list include 2 Firelands Portal, 2 Fireball, 2 Frostbolt, 2 Medivh's Valet and 1 Pyroblast which adds up to 44 damage, you have 2 Branching Paths , 2 Oaken Summons, 2 Ultimate Infestation and your Death Knight Malfurion the Pestilent to build armor. From the Oaken Summons and Branching Paths alone, you can add 36 armor. Add in the 5 Armor from Ultimate Infestation, the 5 armor from your Death Knight plus the 3 armor hero power per turn and you can outlast your Secret Mage matches. Against Control/Big Mage…just hope they don’t run Skulking Geist, pretty much this deck loses to that one card but that’s Jade Druid pretty much for the most part.
For the Paladin Variants especially the OTK paladin version floating around, the games have come down to how fast you can stabilize and maintain your board presence. Against Murlocs and Dude Paladin, the taunts from Spreading Plague, Ironwood Golem along with buffs like Mark of the Lotus have made them a bit easier to deal with.
Control Warlock and Cubelock have been interesting matches. Cubelock for the most part doesn’t run Skulking Geist but your matches come down to your Jades being out of control. However, control warlock and cubelock aren’t favorable matches. Zoolock has been a bit more favorable due to the taunts.
It’s been pretty fun using this deck in Legend so far but I’ll keep testing on both ladder and tournaments for further results and changes. Swipe, Wrath, Spellbreaker are cards I definitely want to consider but I’ll keep testing to see what becomes more optimal.
