“Odd Taunt” Druid — guide by TinSonSay
Mulligan:
– The card to really look for is Wild Growth. Without it, this deck lacks the ability to ramp the way most Druid decks like to.
Gameplay:
– Baku, the Mooneater: the upgraded Druid hero power is nothing to scoff at. The constant armor gain and immediate removal potential it offers can make a huge difference in games where you’ve fallen behind early.
– Hadronox: this deck packs a strong taunt package which makes Hadronox’s deathrattle ability a strong late game option, especially when combined with Carnivorous Cube.
– Master Oakheart: though pulling Drakkari Enchanter plus Dragonhatcher into two giant taunty dragons isn’t as much of a guarantee here as it is in a deck with Primordial Drakes, this deck is capable of some ridiculous Oakheart pulls. Master Oakheart functions as this deck’s primary win condition.
Pitfalls:
As always in my deck deck guides, I like to point out some of the pitfalls of the deck. By pitfalls I mean the ways for the deck to really fail at what it’s intended to do. These are things to watch out for…
– Drawing Oakheart combo pieces before playing Oakheart severely inhibits the combo.
– Be cautious of which dragons are left in the deck, you don’t want Dragonhatcher to whiff.
– Lastly, this deck has a tendency to fall behind opponents who go wide, such as Paladins or other token decks. Against these decks the game plan simply becomes throwing down taunts to try and survive till Hadronox/Oakheart can hopefully allow you to turn the corner.
