“Murloc Fatigue” Mage — guide by TinSonSay
Mulligan:
– The cards to really look for are Murloc Tidecaller and Rockpool Hunter. The stronger your start, the easier it will be to navigate the mid-game.
Gameplay:
– Aluneth: this card is incredibly powerful in this deck. It allows you to freely flood the board with murlocs without any worry of running out of resources. To keep Aluneth from killing you, this deck features a slow but sure anti-fatigue strategy in the likes of Augmented Elekk and Baleful Banker.
– Astromancer: thanks to Aluneth and Book of Specters, this deck commonly sports a full hand so Astromancer and Mountain Giant are effective and powerful midrange threats.
– Augmented Elekk: this card plus Baleful Banker essentially allows you to avoid fatigue entirely. With some luck, this combination also allows you to get “infinite” copies of any other minion in your deck, such as Astromancer or Elise the Trailblazer
Pitfalls:
As always in my deck deck guides, I like to point out some of the pitfalls of the deck. By pitfalls I mean the ways for the deck to really fail at what it’s intended to do. These are things to watch out for…
– This deck lacks any sort of AoE, so any opponent with a faster start is likely to run away with the game.
– Burning/playing even a single copy of Augmented Elekk or Baleful Banker before executing the full combo can prevent the deck from going “infinite”. It’s essential to hold on to these minions in any match where fatigue is a possibility, thus rendering them dead cards in hand until that time comes.
