Team 5 really wants this to be a thing. Every murloc they printed for Shaman in Rise of Shadows is insane.
Gameplan
We get ahead on board early and we stay ahead until they die. Underbelly Angler is your main source of gas, so be kind to it.
Card choices
I basically added everything with a murloc tag and then every spell that rewards going wide. I’ll comment on the more questionable choices.
- Murloc Tastyfin – feels okay when you’re ahead on 4 and you’re worried about a board clear. Feels pretty good when discounted by Scargil
- Bluegill Warrior – Represents 5 damage on a Bloodlust turn, 4 damage with Murloc Warleader, which makes it sound better.
- Grimscale Oracle – sometimes it’s like 1 mana deal 3 or 4 that also plays a 1/1. it’s a murloc
“it’s a murloc” is generally the fallback explanation of anything mediocre, because your effects that relate to murlocs are so powerful it is okay that your murlocs are weak.
Other Options:
- Murloc Raider – i guess? it’s a murloc.
Another option is to leave the murloc-focused build and add a tempo overload package. This makes our murloc synergies worse because have fewer murlocs overall, but we also don’t have to play as many bad cards.
