Mulligans
So when April Arrives, my exception would be that Tempo Mage will not be as Fast as she once was, because she doesn’t have [Card_link name=”Aluneth”], and thus making her “No longer a Viable Deck” Purely because Drawing an Average of 9 Cards from each match meant a Whole lot to them. So I came up with the Deck to try and Recover from that when it does finally Arrive. Instead of the Deck Itself being St aright up Dead when the Next Expansion comes out, It would Instead lose an arm or a leg. It’s not as pretty, but at least it’s still kicking. (Pun kinda Intended.)
One Card I will say however is that you DO NOT need Stargazer Luna, Unless you are willing to pay Extra just because you don’t like Research Project. If you do happen to have Luna, I feel like that it would be overkill. It’s a Powerful Niche Card, yes, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you can Grantee to Draw at 2 Cards.
[Spell Damage +2 OP OP]
Now the reason why I have both Archmage Antonidas and Ethereal Arcanist is because of Hex Lord Malacrass Battlecry and Text. And because of the help of Archmage Arugal to also try and draw out Sorcerer's Apprentice , There will be those moments where you can go Exodia Again, given that you can survive for at least 10 Turns, to play Both Antonidas and Splitting Image. It’s a Big Threat to the Opponent, and It wants to kill him quickly, which it normally does, and with Splitting Image, It’s going to not only make it harder for the opponent to kill Antonidas, but it’s also going to give you a free Fireball. However, if you are on a Budget, or you just don’t believe in the RNGesus (Even though It’s more on your side, becuase of the Amount of Card Draws and Copies with both Malacrass, Arugal and Intellect.) then you can Replace him for a Kirin Tor Mage or another Eternal Arcanist.
As for Archmage Arugal, He is more important then Antonidas, because with the combo of drawing Cards, He’s going to give you the Most Value. Do Not see Arugal as just a 2 Mana 2/2, but Rather see him as a 5 Mana 2/2 “Discard”, to Draw “4” Cards instead (2 Cards Actually Drawn, and 2 of those cards being Copied.) Even you’re in a Budget, I would still recommend getting Arugal as well, but if you serious can’t, then.. sure. trade it for something else.
Hex Lord Malacrass is just way too important to give up. And being able to give you 3 Cards that were from your Opening is always good, escpally for this deck. He is such a Core Card for Mage, that I feel like that Malacrass is just another Aluneth in a way.
