Why you should try Mage instead of Shaman, or other classes, as your Elemental pilot?

The mage Elemental package can be combined with the old fashioned removals, to keep the board on your favor.

– Because of Pyros , an awesome and loyal pet that will be on your side the entire game, as an answer in your early, mid, and late game.

– Steam Surger as an awesome tech card that can take his place on turn 4, taking an extra removal and elemental activator on your hand, or as a very good answer since turn 6, using his spell as you cast it.

So… your strategy here is: play your minions, clean the board, play, clean, play, clean, play, win.

Tech cards:

– Mana Wyrm  is just the mage’s best 1-drop ever.

– Primordial Glyph  can give you very versatile answers… all the time.

– Volcanic Potion  Against a board invaded by small minions (Mostly any Hunter… any Rogue… Pirate Warrior… Zoolock… you know… against aggro)

– And… use Blizzard and Flamestrike to keep your board clear.

– Baron Geddon  if your opponent doesn’t get that this is your board…

– And prepare yourself for the greedy-power of Anomalus !!! … if he/she doesn’t stop to try… 🙂

About Secrets: 

– Counterspell can protect your big buddies or be an secret weapon against Quest Rogue.

– Ice Block can give you that last turn that you needed to win, or counter the dreams of Combo-Quest Mage.

– You only need 1 copy of each, because Arcanologist is a nice tech-drop on your early game, and the best chance to get 1 of your utility secrets.

Card draw is not really necessary, because elementals provides you of nice cards, all the time, and you need to push on the entire game. If you don’t believe me, just replace some tech cards with some cantrips.

Notes:

Without the greedy elemental overlord Anomalus replaced by Arcanologist , my win-rate is about 67%. He can be discovered with Servant of Kalimos if you’re in a hurry, and when he does… the game is yours.
