Mulligans

General Mulligans

Always keep: Babbling book, Arcanologist
You always want to keep babbling book, as its your only one drop and its always better to do something on turn one then nothing. The only time i might suggest tossing it back is if you have two good two drops in your hand and your going second.

You also want to keep your hands on Arcanologist, as it is your best two drop statline wise and its battlecry might go to waste later on.

Aggro Mulligans

Against aggro: Frostbolt, Tar Creeper

Frostbolt is great against aggro decks beacuse it slows down there minions, your 2/3 arcanologists cant stand up to a pirate warrior's 5/3 bloodsail raider. Always consiter firing face against a pirate warrior, the freeze might pervent them from keeping board control with the waepon and allow you to dictate the trades.

Tar creeper is very effective at slowing downa ggro but it cant do the job by itself, Neither can Volcanic potion. you'll need to pair these with your other early game minions. consiter sending these two back if you lack any other good early game options.

Combo Mulligans

Situational keeps: Pyros, Shimmering Tempest, Steam Surger, Water Elemental.

These are cards you'll want to keep only if the right conditions are met. Pyros is good to keep if you lack other two drops in your hand, as its a pretty good two drop and having a turn two play is better then none. Shimmering tempest, likewise, is good if you already have a good curve, as it can easily fill in a gap.

Steam surger and Water Elemental are a little slow, but very strong to play on turn 4, or turn 3 if you have the coin. These should only be kept if you already have a good curve, otherwise, you'll be better off trying to get more early game options.

Control Mulligans

Always keep: Arcane intellect

You will be the one applying the pressure against control, and card draw lets you keep going that. If you have no early game options tho, it might be worth sending this back to better your odds at getting a good curve.

This deck is interested in tempoing out, maintaining board control with minor elemental synergy and various spells, and utilizing Pyros, Molten Reflection, and N’zoth for high value and sustaining pressure against control decks.

Optional tech choices:
If your facing a lot of control decks, you can remove volcanic potion for another molten reflection, this is usually give you all the value you’d need. However Shimmering tempest would now just be clogging your resurrection, as such, you can remove it for anti control cards like Pyroblast (or Yogg for some fun!), or a more aggressive card like Sorcerers Apprentice.

If your facing a lot of aggro decks, it would likely be wise to drop Shimmering tempest. its state line isn’t as good as fighting for board control against aggro and keeping you alive as Mistress of Mixtures is. I would recommend against removing Molten Reflection, as its sooo strong against control its not worth losing. Board clears like Blizzard might be worth considering, altho I think Second-Rate Bruiser Is worth considering as well, as it helps you tempo out and slows down aggro.

If your facing a lot of Midrange decks, many anti aggro and control choices work, but a few more options are worth considering. a second Glyph is a considerable option as it can help you get the counters you need and the tempo loss isn’t as bad against slower decks. Defender of argus is another option, as it gives you great value trades and is great after N’zoth, but it risks being too slow and its clunky, so pick this with caution.

Perhaps, I have not put in the time to try myself but I have a good enough winrate to were it should be possible. It’d prob be wise to edit the deck a lil as you go, to tech it towards what your facing more.
