General Mulligans
Honestly, it shouldn't even matter what you draw early. This deck doesn't care too much for disadvantage, unlike basically every other deck. It should, but it doesn't. But. You want early tools vs early game based opponents if you can, and If you happen to draw blackthorn or Selfless, (and you keep them expecting to live to 7, and you don't draw the combo pieces), your chances of winning jump from 65% to, give or take, to 95%.
Pozzik ofc is also semi automatic win vs certain matchups, since the tempo you get is never lost till the end. Reno ofc very strong, you might want to keep it in hand no matter what you are facing since you are likely not playing too many things early anyway.
Slimescale diver is big priest, even shaman and miracle tech. granted miracle is...
Maiev is strong, good vs anything big. Removing neptulon from play>>killing neptulon. You get a Ton of free aggro vs mill druids if you remove their 4 drop from play.
Strongest deck ingame. It beats everything. It beats kingsbane, it beats mill druid, it beats pirate rogue, it beats quest druid, it beats turn 7 lorthemar blood dk bottom deck, it beats demonlock, it beats big priest, it beats every other dh, it beats shudder- ok that’s stretching it.
You name it, this beats it.^^’ Probably with above 75% winrate.
+Problem is you gotta draw well and you gotta play well.
-Deck can crumble with bad draw.
+Deck can save itself from crumbling state with good draw. It balances out a little.
+Some decks need dynamic gameplan to beat, face trade vs kingsbane for instance. You gotta otk vs some things. You gotta control other things. You gotta tempo->control->yolo face even other things.
-Deck is extremely costy.
-+Deck has removed moonfang from its earlier variant. 😀 no need to prove myself reaching legend with that again afterall…
Mentionable things:
Etc: topple the idol, flamereaper, lorthemar
Abyssal Deths: tutors zephrys, felfire deadeye for otk.
Everything has a purpose. Yes, even city architech and evasive dragonid. Hard to explain, but in this game theory sense, the deck is full of holes, which gives it strength played right with right draw, but also creates weaknesses and opportunities. Some cards fill these holes. The Deck sort of plays itself into a position where these cards are getting more value than they should in any other deck. Yes, Dragonid is likely better than Xilagg in this deck. Watchpost is even shaman counter. Naralex is a tool for uh, just trust me on that. 😀 this deck synergizes well with them cards, and likes early minions. Survives slow starts.
There’s a lot of taunts, which help with aggro matchups. There’s enough clear to outlast the greediest big priest. There’s a lot of tempo which kills druids. There’s a LOT of disruption, which kills other things.
You pray to your gods not to draw kryxis turn 4.
Xilagg might be worth it in etc.
