Mulligans
General Mulligans
These card choices will allow you to begin your draw power. Usually, If I go first I will postpone the use of power word shield until both acolyte of pain and pyromancer are on board. I would not use it on northshire cleric unless you are playing against mage decks in order to avoid the turn 2 frost bolt.
Aggro Mulligans
These cards will allow you to clear the opponents board effectively, be aware that you will be using one of your 2 Embrace of the shadows while one is required to execute the late game OTK.
This is my first deck using deck builder so all comments and suggestions are welcome. This is my Prophet Velen OTK deck. The goal of this deck is to slide through your deck rather quickly using combinations such as Wild Pyromancer + Acolyte of Pain, the obvious heal + Northshire cleric (can also be combined along with board heal using Circle of healing, Power word shield, Etc. Due to control nature of the Priest class, I have crafted this deck in purpose of fairly easily controlling board using combinations such as Bloodmage Thalnos + Holy Nova or Excavated Evil, Auchenai Soulpriest + Circle of Healing, etc. Aside from board clearing combinations, there are also single cards to control board such as Entomb and Shadow word Death There is also another incredible combination due to the release of Embrace the Shadow in WoG. Use this card WISELY, there are only 2 copies in the deck and in order to OTK end game, you need 1 copy in hand…If you are able to play into around turn 10 or 12, you should win most of the time. The in hand OTK combination is as follows..
-At least 1 flash heal, 1 embrace the shadow, 2 mind blast, and Prophet Velen. This deck works fairly well if you can manage to land all of these finishers in your hand while you are controlling Emperor Thaurissan. If so, your hand will be as follows..
-(0) Flash Heal(s), (1) Embrace the Shadows, 2x (1) Mind Blast, and (6) Prophet Velen. this gives you a total hand mana cost of (9). If you fail to play Prophet, another win condition in this deck can be the Alextrasza to lower your opponent to 15 health, following the next turn Malygos + Mind Blasts. I will be posting a video soon, I have climbed ladder from Rank 20 to 13 with this deck in roughly 1 to 2 days. Even if you don’t see this deck fit for high ladder rank play, it is still an extremely fun deck to play in casual or against friends.
God damn this deck is fun to play. I feel like the deck needs more hard removal that doesn’t break the combo (it hurts to throw away embrace the shadows against a zoo deck). I’m not sure what I’d recommend you take out, but I’ve been throwing around adding more of the 3 shadow words and it seems to help. Either way, crazy fun.
Thank you for commenting haha. I do agree, unfortunately the removal doesnt really begin until turn 5 when nova or evil are able to be played. The deck space is really tight, however if you can find anything maybe test [shadow word horror?] Let me know if it works out. This deck is by far one of my favorites~~Thassa
