General Mulligans
Loot Hoarder and Novice Engineer are for early draw and are able to deal with tokens. Forgotten Torch is a great keep against most decks as it is able to deal with common 3 health minions ( Tunnel Trogg, Mire Keeper, SI:7 Agent etc.). Doomsayer and Eater of Secrets are situational keeps. Doomsayer should be kept versus Aggro and Tempo decks, as it can clear or tank 7 damage or more. Eater of Secrets should be kept against Hunter in all situations.
This is the current standard Freeze Mage Decklist with a special tech of Eater of Secrets. The idea with Eater of Secrets is to counter Secret Hunter by taking away all secrets, and putting a big minion on board. The Eater could be replaced with another Acolyte of Pain for added draw, however, the Eater of Secrets almost auto wins the mirror match and assists the Secret Hunter matchup significantly.
The main win condition of this deck is controlling board with freeze ( Frost Nova, Blizzard ) and stall ( Doomsayer, Ice Block, Ice Barrier ), while drawing your burn spells ( Ice Lance, Frostbolt, Fireball, Forgotten Torch), getting a giant discount with Emperor and bursting your opponent with spell damage and burn spells.
I believe that this deck is amazing in the current meta, since it does well versus Midrange Shaman, Secret Hunter, Zoolock and Rogue decks. This deck however, struggles with Control Warrior, as they can infinitely stack armor (Still winnable).
