Secret mage has always faired poorly versus token decks, especially druid. It is less of you needing good draw and more of you needing your opponent to get bad draw haha
On the plus side token decks are not very common right now.
Token decks are what now? Literally almost every deck that’s not Razakus priest right now is what I consider a token deck (tokens as in small minions swarming the board). Aggro druid, Keleseth warlock and Keleseth rogue are all such decks that flood the board early one way or another. To a lesser extent (because not as commonly played anymore) evolve shaman falls under that same category that mage struggles with. How you can say these decks are not common right now is completely beyond me.
Agreed and correct assessment of the current crap meta, luckely razakus exists or the meta would be totally one sided (jades/tokens-swarm).
Anyhow secret mage can only win when it is able to have a blunt start with secrets and removal and control the board, once they run out of of hand you can match their crap minions one by one untill you get the big guys to finish the deal.
What Hemet does in this is beyond me, he should not be there, Marin would be good… (drawing 3 cards, filling your hand with the card you drawn, or a shitload of legends to seal the deal)
Why is hemet in this deck?
Here is in the deck so that you can thin out your deck and get to your burn spells.
I would remove the counter spells here and I would use ice blocks. The old Hemet deck was utilising them for this exact reason. Death to the tokens!
Fun deck. I have not fared so well vs token decks so far. A small sample size so far though. 0-4 vs token druid. Not sure if it is bad draw or not.
