Deck just isnt good enough. Loses hard to Hunters, Druids, Big Spell Mage, Odd Warrior and only beats aggro IF you draw Duskbreakers and Pyromancers on time. Its great against paladins, yes but of coure I never que into any of those. Just a weak deck in this meta. Really bad.
I agree that the deck is not the strongest in the current meta, but i have to disagree what you say about the hunter matchup. Dragon Priest is one of the main counters against almost every hunter deck.
If you lack cards and think about what’s worth considering for this deck, I would also throw Shadow Word Death into the ring as the matchup with Even Warlock can be really frustrating. There is ALWAYS an early giant and trading the attack points will only work if you have a dragon in hand, whereas SWD can be discovered on Turn 2. It is important to note that the other posters are right, in general there are a lot of matchups across the ladder where different techs can be better than that but at least it’s a decent basic card if you don’t have all of them.
Having said that, if you are looking for other ideas, I personally play a slightly different version with Benedictus, second divine hymn, geist and that 6 mana deal 5 heal 5 spell instead of the 2 Acolytes and the 2 Scaleworms. Against druid Geist is OP but in almost all other matchups it’s bad in tempo and usually slightly too late, unfortunately. However, that version also works well overall, so you can really experiment with a few different cards here.
Opinions on second Cabal Shaow Priest? Never have use for it? Nice addition? Sub for 2nd Divine Hymn? Thank you.
you could replace second cabal shadow priest by any tech card you want. Adding second hymn makes it harder to find additional mind blast which is key against control matchups. you could go for either geist if you face a lot of druids, weapon removal or any other tech card you would like. these priest decks are usually very flexible 🙂
A second Cabal priest is mandatory to improve match up against cube hunter/rogue.
I play 2 cabal and 2 hymne instead of the scaleworms.
