You have got to get an early Renounce Darkness or you're screwed. Use the warlock hero power to dig for it.

My friend doesn’t have much for Warlock cards, but he does have x2 renounce darkness. Hopefully  drawing a renounce darkness early on can make the playing field somewhat even
