Replacement for Rhonin?
Ragnaros or second Mana Wyrm.
Subs for Rhonin and Yogg?
Second Mana Wyrm and Ragnaros could work.
hi, guys! sorry for my bad english.
from all “tempo mage decks”, in wotog & karazhan era, RayC’s tempo Yogg i find like a brilliant constructed one. also, the best.
i never thought that ronin and anto can be so effective tandem in one deck.
now in rank 7 (started from 18)
peace!
Its very good, but can be very complicated to play correctly. But you have soo many options how to approach each matchup. You can even OTK easily, I did it today in tournament with flamewaker+spell dmg+5x arcane missiles=30 dmg.
Is the point of so many cheap spells to hold onto them, Tharusian them down even more and then play them with Antonidas for fireball fun and then just have a ton of activators for Yogg? Cause all that seems like an oddly specific and maybe difficult win condition.
Like I guess I’m looking at arcane explosion and arcane missiles. I haven run any of those in a long while.
for the most part you should use the spells to maintain boardcontrol in the early and midgame, combo’ing them with flamewakers and spelldamage if possible. dont try to save them to get a huge combo off with antonidas, this is still a tempo mage and keeping the board clear is a big part of the gameplan.
in slower matchups you can save more spells for antonidas but you also often get the 3 missiles from rhonin. of course powering up yogg is another main purpose of all the spells and gives you the deck another big swing potential.
i climbed from rank 8 to rank 4 today with a 64% winrate and had a blast playing this deck. rhonin is a really cool tech choice that i havent ever seen in tempo mage and gives you some great finishing potential even when antonidas is at the bottom of the deck (combined with a flamewaker, some spelldamage and 2-3 more cheap spells).
against aggro decks you sometimes just get curved out if you cant get some decent early game removal and you wont be able to go for antonidas/rhonin because they are very slow cards but i think every deck struggles against perfect shaman/druid/dragonwarrior curves. theyre all still very winable matchups.
this deck is a ton of fun

is 2loot or 2books really better with this deck than a second mana wyrm?
Yes. Mana spwyrm is kinda useless if killed.
why does this have such a terrible rating?
Because it’s expensive. But this deck is seriously fantastic.
What ranks are you playing it at? How does it fare against popular meta decks?
