To everyone who enjoyed playing this deck before the release of KotFT, I am trying to revamp this deck for the new expansion. Feel free to check the list I theorycrafted out and leave any possible suggestions you may have on how to improve it. http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/kotft-tempo-warrior/
So i just went from 15 (no stars) to 10 without losing! Before i played a game however i did change a couple cards. -2 armorsmiths -1 upgrade. +2 battle rage (drawing two cards is good enough and will get you that final burst you need. I always had a board in my climb so should be easy to get at least 2.) +1 Harrison Jones. Destroyed Atiesh (hope thats spelled right lol) a few times feelsgoodman.
This is one of those rare times where I take a random “non meta” deck and it wrecks! I am having an easy climb so far (Ive been lazy this season, normally I always get to at least 5) and Ive gone something like 10-2
My thoughts so far…
Fools Bane (as mentioned before) is a sexy sexy card. Something that Aggro and Tempo decks have lacked was a board clear. In the meta of tokens and 3 health minions… this is so nice.
People think your playing an all in aggro… so their strategy is to counter the all in. When in all reality, we have some nice little push cards there around 6-8.
I wasnt wild about Argent Commander at first… but that bubble makes it go a lot further. Something to trade without losing, or just a nice 4 damage bump. Turns out, I really like this in the deck.
Malkorok isnt mandatory in this deck, but man has he come in handy! 6/5 is a nice body, but all the weapons in the standard atm are great! He can really push you over the edge!
Some have mentioned that you need draw, I disagree. The point has been made that tempo decks are fast and play on a curve. They force your opponent to do things they dont wanna do, over pay for a trade or waste minions potential or waste spells. Does not need card draw.
Play this on a curve. Mulligan for a curve if you can. Tempo is all about riding the best curve possible. This is an easy deck to do that with.
Just wanted to make a comment saying that this deck does actually work! I climbed from rank 5 to rank 3 today with a pretty lucky win streak. The deck feels a lot better versus token shaman and token druid than standard pirate warrior. For anyone considering taking out Fool’s Bane DO NOT DO IT. Running two copies of it instead of Arcanite reaper is what makes it such a good tempo deck. The card has won me multiple games now.
You are right. Fool’s Bane is a must in this deck. It clears the board to let your minions to attack freely. In every situation , Fool’s Bane was better than the standard Arcanite Reaper.
Go try playing it. You’ll experience the same thing. You run out of steam. No one else in the meta does. Aoe is a form of card advantage, so is card draw. The old tempo warriors ran ravaging ghoul and acolyte of pain for a reason. That is why this deck performs so badly.
Lol you are definitely doing something wrong then. This deck is designed to NOT run out of steam unlike Pirate Warrior in certain matchups. You run the full pirate package, FWA, Korkron, Argent Commander. YOU should be the one building up pressure and your opponent should have to react to you, so you are not the one who needs AOE. In the matchups where you are not the aggressor you have fool’s bane to clear the board. If you need AOE you are either ignoring trades at all and get overwhelmed by the opponents board at one point or you are doing something else completely wrong (I have tested the deck for 30 games, I only felt the need for AOE when drawing terrible against Token Druid, which is completely normal).
If you’re playing the deck with the intended gameplan, I think you’ll see that your card advantage in the grindier matchup is Fool’s Bane. That card can amount up to 4-for-1, and single-handedly turn over board advantage to your favor.

Where does Blood to Ichor come into play with this deck? I was thinking of trading it for 1 Rampage and 1 Inner Rage or Mortal Strike. Any ideas?
Any mulligan guides?
Is Blood to Ichor a keep?

Oh and an additional comment that gnarkill reminded me of. Fools bane is mvp of this deck.

May I put Leeroy instead one argent commander?
Yes, easy swap. The Commander obviously will be more sticky, allowing to kill minions and still be there. But Leeroy is a great sub.
Sub for Malkorok?
Bittertide Hydra, Captain Greenskin, Leeroy Jenkins, Naga Corsair, Reckless Rocketeer or Sabertooth Stalker
Replace for malkorok? Matchups? Nice idea anyway
BITTERTIDE HYDRA looks nice for me

Is there any replacement for garrosh?
You mean Grommash. Because i don’t see Uther commanding Frothing Berserker to attack. Nice deck, i’d change the two Argent Commander.
This deck needs card draw and AOE so badly.
It is a tempo deck like an old agro warrior dragon. It depends on the calling cards.
No you don’t.

Then it’s just you. I hit legend from rank 7 with this deck.
