Mulligans
Introduction
Classic Control Warlock, oriented for abusing the discard mechanism on Gnomeferatu + Glinda Crowskin Echo ability.
Card Choices
- Summoning Portal for lowering the mana cost of Gnomes and other good drops.
- Rotten Applebaum is a decent taunt, with the healing deathrattle, that can be cheated out by Crowskin, Crowskin + Portals, or even Zola, for more board control.
- Zola the Gorgon can target whatever you might need (Voidlord, Applebaum, another Gnomeferatu, or even Crowskin if you think she might not survive the turn), and can be Echoed for more value.
- Lord Godfrey : Effective board clear for turn 7/coin 6. Leaves a 4/4 body after wars, and plays around Deathrattles that pull out minions. As a Battlecry can’t be countered by Counterspell / Rebuke – Hard to be played around it.
EDIT: Included a variant of the deck, exchanging 2 x Doomsayer for 2 x Meat Wagon.
- PROS: Pull out the Summoning Portals from deck – Has great sinergy with the deck strat – Might not be targeted at once by fearing and incoming Doomsayer from it.
- CONS: You take Doomsayer out of your deck, which vs Aggro/Midrange matches are one of the most reliable card at early turns to clear board, and later clears as well.
I really like the combo with Gnomeferatu, I’m pretty sure this will be played, what do you think of including Meat Wagon in the deck ? this card was played with Summoning Portals
Thanks, i’ll be playing it for sure! I’ll include the possibility of changing 2x Doomsayers for 2x Meat Wagon, for anyone who wants to try it. In my opinion, Doomsayers are just too good for survive against Aggro decks (who will eternally exist among all the expansions), so i can’t really see myself making that trade. But as you say, Meat Wagons works perfectly in the idea of the deck.
Very interesting deck! Really inventive theory-crafting. Summoning Portal possibly seeing play? That’s crazy. If I don’t get to play this deck because of the high dust cost, I at least hope to see it played and variated upon. My one suggestion is perhaps to include cube/ more cheap minions with powerful effects to echo and cheat out. (You could Glinda-Cube-Cube to keep her in play for a while, for example. Keep on adding stuff to this!
Thanks pal! This deck works as a base, so after trying it after expansion we might see changes/include new mechanics. I’m not quite sure about Cube, but it’s a possibility, as well as another minions being cheated out by portal, and Echoed by Glinda. Time will tell, i’ll keep updating it until then!
Get meat wagon. With that choice you might want to remove doomsayer for consistency.
Meat wagon is a great way to get summoning portal out of the deck, good way to get it without having to summon it and hope it survives a turn
As I said in another reply, Meat Wagons work great with this deck strategy, but at a high cost of losing Doomsayers, which in vs Aggro matches are normally the most realiable way to survive the early aggresive turns.
But i know they work great in here, so i’ll put them as another way of building the deck. Thanks for the feedback!
What about removing one
*twisting nether for lord godfrey ?
I made the deck before that card reveal, so sure he can be a great adition. I’m gonna update the deck after more reveals, and finally tested after release.
Okay nice im really looking forward trying him out. Thanks for putting in the work
Your welcome. I edited the deck with Godfrey included, thanks for the input pal!
Nice deck! Even without Portals can work if you manage to keep Glinda alive.
I dunno about Rin, although without her you won’t have a win condition if you can’t mill core cards with Gnomes.
Maybe the expansion brings more cards to improve this setup, but hell i’m gonna try it for sure!
Thanks for the reply pal. I’m in hope for this expansion to bring more choices for this setup.
I’m not quite in love with Portals (too slow, and against aggro pushing your board becomes a dead card), even thought of Meat Wagon for bringing them from deck, but you have to remove Doomsayers, so we’ll see if they can be effectively played.
As for Rin, she puts pressure on the enemy turns, counters the non fatigue decks (Dead Man / Knightbane / etc), and improve the demons for Guldan turn, she might seem too much as this deck abuses from Gnome discards, but she brings too many choices in only one card.
*Kingsbane* ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
