Mulligans

General Mulligans

You always want removal like doomsayer in your openings hand against aggro, and a good curve against the others.

Aggro Mulligans

If you have doomsayer you should mulligan the other cards for a solid 3 drop, ideal hand without coin = doomsayer, Carrion Grub, Houndmaster. Ideal hand with coin = doomsayer, doomsayer, Carrion Grub, Houndmaster.

Control Mulligans

Look for a good curve

Intro

This deck is for those who want to play a different class then all the others on ladder.

And the good thing is, … it actually works! Only against shaman it’s tricky, but with a bit of focus and the right cards it’s still possible to sneek in a win.

Card choices

Doomsayer: there are a lot of aggressive decks on the ladder atm, doomsayer gives you a clear board at turn 2 or 3 in the best case, worst case it’s 7 less damage in your face. (the following turn you can just  play a strong follow-up on an empty board. You’re in control of the game now)

Deadly Shot: The ideal removal in more situations then you think at first. turn 4 against a warlock (Giant or drake), Flamewrathed faceless, etc, etc, …. (tip: removing a 4 cost card potentially with 2 overload with a 3 cost card = tempo)

Carrion Grub: A solid turn 3, can contest many cheap minions and is a great target for Houndmaster

The Curator: if it isn’t for the taunt in aggro match-ups it is for the card draw in longer match-ups.

To be continued

With enough likes I will describe each match-up (mulligan + strategy)

With a lot of likes I’ll put in card substitutions because there are a few …

    Hi Frisse.

After trying out a Murloc Hunter, having quite moderate results, I gave your deck a try.

I’m really enjoying it, even if it is quite soon to tell but my first impressions are impressive. The deck plays very fluidly and offers different, good options.

At this time, I am on a 3-1 win, winning easily vs. Beast Hunter, Freeze Mage and Pirate / Jade Shaman. I had a very close loss to Reno Mage (it seemed very bad at a certain moment but The Curator and Azure Drake brought me back in the game).

I’m not a huge Hunter fan but this kind of game is fun & effective. Thanks for this interesting deck.
