After trying many, many, many iterations and much playtesting it has come to this. Goal of the deck is fairly simple: discount mechathun once with galvanizer, draw your deck, play everything except one prep and one walk-the-plank, then play those three cards out, killing mechathun and winning the game.
The hard part is drawing *and playing* the deck fast enough while simultaneously controlling the board enough to not die before the combo goes off. Because of the asterisked bit, most of the top-end mana-cost cards are off the table. They simply slow down your plan too much.
Strategy:
- You will usually need a decent gadgetzan auctioneer turn to win. Minimum of 3 cards.
- You usually want your shadowsteps to land on elven minstrel if possible.
- Myra’s UE is a life-saving card, but try not to gamble with it. You have 4 combo pieces- 1 walk-the-plank, 1 prep, 1 galvanizer, and mechathun. That’s not a lot but two of those pieces are one-ofs, and burning either is disastrous.
- I picked ooze as the tech card because I wanted to minimize the mana cost- spellbreaker seemed like 1 too many 4 drops -and also help the plan of staying alive when possible. Mind control tech is also a potential candidate.
Hemet, Jungle Hunter is really good for thinning the deck out, just make sure you don’t burn preparation or galvanizer
