Mulligans
General Mulligans
Swashburglar and Razorpetal Lasher are good minions to contest the board early. Questing Adventurer can be good when dropped on turn 3, but you may want to wait until you can combo it with other cards to ensure it isn't dealt with immediately. SI:7 Agent should only be kept either with the Coin or with Backstab.
Aggro Mulligans
Bloodmage Thalnos combines well with Backstab to deal 3 damage to a minion. Keep preparation with Fan of Knives, and if you are encountering a lot of aggressive decks, you may want to swap a Mimic Pod for a Fan of Knives.Control Mulligans
Keep Backstab if you already have other low-cost minions, otherwise it isn't worth keeping. Sherazin, Corpse Flower and Mimic Pod are strong cards vs control decks, especially against Priest.Hi everyone!
This is the Miracle Rogue list that I have been playing on ladder.
The most popular version of Miracle Rogue is the version using Valeera the Hollow and Vanish, but I find this deck too slow as it typically loses to aggressive/tempo decks, such as Keleseth Rogue and Hybrid Hunter.
This deck uses Questing Adventurer and other cheap minions that generate cards (Swashburglar and Razorpetal Lasher) to contest the board early and to hold board control against fast decks.
This deck runs most of the normal miracle rogue cards, and also a few weird/interesting cards. I’ll explain some of these below:
Razorpetal Lasher – Despite this being a solid card, it hasn’t seen much play in KFT as it seems underwhelming. However, it works well in Miracle Rogue as the Razorpetals are good combo enablers, can be used with Bloodmage Thalnos or Gadgetzan Auctioneer, and the minion is a decent minion for contesting the board early. However, it works especially well in conjunction with Questing Adventurer, which is often your win condition.
Questing Adventurer – Questing Adventurer is very strong in this meta, and is a very threatening minion. If left alive for a turn, it can snowball out of control and win you the game. Be mindful of Spellbreaker and Vilespine Slayer though; don’t overcommit if the opponent will likely be able to remove it.
Lilian Voss – I believe this card was taken out of Miracle Rogue as it could feel quite disappointing to re-roll your Counterfeit Coin(s) and Preparation(s) and other cheap spells and later draw your Gadgetzan Auctioneer. This is understandable, but I still think there is value in using your more impactful spells first (with or without Gadgetzan Auctioneer) , and re-rolling Razorpetals and random spells from Swashburglar for instance, at a chance to obtain a better spell. Ultimately, it still has a good stat line even if the effect is used suboptimally.
Elise the Trailblazer – WEGHUZ put this card in his top 100 legend Miracle Rogue deck, and it made a lot of sense to me. This deck can draw a lot of cards with Gadgetzan Auctioneer, which makes it easier to draw the pack, and the pack gives lots of cards to grow your Questing Adventurers, enable combos, and give the deck more late-game power.
I hope you all enjoy playing this deck! If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to ask below. I will try to update this guide as time goes on π
I like the deck. Lilian Voss can increase the number of surprises that your opponent does not expect, but it’s also a card that (in general) increases the cost of cheap spells, so… Is Sherazin good in the deck?
I already consider the performance of Sherazin less than desirable in regular miracle decks, so, taking into account the deck itself and meta, what card would you recommend to replace it?
Could Ethereal Peddler work as a replacement for Lilian Voss? Similar value at 5/6 for 5 mana and would reduce the cost of spells drawn by Swashburglar and Hallucination making them more valuable to curve into an early Auctioneer next turn.
