Mulligans
Aggro Mulligans
Against aggro, you want early plays, board clears and heals.
Control Mulligans
Against control, you want as much draw as possible.
Edit: In advance of the upcoming nerf, I’ve replaced the Rockbiter Weapons with Abusive Sergeants. This brings the combo damage down slightly (from 36 to 32, and from 48 to 40), but a 2 mana Rockbiter Weapon is unplayable in this deck. Obviously this makes the Warrior match up even worse, so it might be worth teching for it; if you’re facing a lot of Warriors, I would cut one of the Maelstrom Portals for Elise Starseeker or Alexstrasza to help with the late game.
Overview
Your gameplan with this deck is to keep your opponent’s board clear, draw into your combo pieces, discount them with Thaurissan, then kill your opponent in one turn.
Leeroy + Abusive Sergeant + Windfury + Faceless Manipulator = 32 burst damage from hand, 40 with the second Abusive Sergeant (which is very relevant against Control Warrior). To accomplish this, you have to discount at least three of your combo pieces with Thaurissan (four combo pieces for the 40 damage combo). Note that at least two of those three combo pieces must be: 1) Leeroy or Faceless 2) Windfury. Discounting two Abusive Sergeants and Windfury only brings the total cost of the combo to 11, which obviously only works with the coin.
As such, against control decks, it’s critical to save Thaurissan until you have the necessary pieces in your hand. I will play Thaurissan more liberally against aggro decks because usually you don’t need the full combo to kill them.
I don’t think there are any weird card choices in this deck that merit extra explanation, but if you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer them!
