General Mulligans

Cheap board presence, card draw, and cheap removal are most important when starting the match. Having a dragon in your hand at all times is very important to enable your control tools such as Duskbreaker and Twilight Acolyte.

Control Matchup: Being a slower deck that wants to be stalling your opponent, makes resource and information gathering important against other control decks which is why Northshire Cleric and Chameleos are immediate picks for your opening hand.

Aggro Matchup: When facing a lot incoming damage early on, cheap removal/board clears can be very important. Duskbreaker is an immediate pick in an aggro matchup, and Viscious Scalehide (especially with a buff) can be a great option as well to help clear early threats and keep you health out of OTK range.

As a long time fan of dragon based decks, I still believe that with the new dragon introduced to priest, that a control based dragon deck is still possible. Lady In White and Countess Ashmore are two new Legendaries that I have high hopes for especially in terms of flavor, and I wanted to include them in a way to help make the deck more interesting. Lady in white fits very well in giving those larger dragons a huge boost in threat, ultimately giving you an alternative win condition. Countess Ashmore is simply a good draw engine for a control deck.

I also included the Vicious Scalehide/Unidentified Elixir combo as an alternative form of removal or way to make more favorable trades. This can be important to set up things like a Duskbreaker or Primordial Drake board clear.

For all I know this deck is terrible and won’t ever see play, but that’s okay. I am open to constructive criticism and encourage anything I should change or maybe should keep in mind.
