Mulligans
General Mulligans
Kingsbane is not the must have to mulligan, its impact on the early game is quite nul. But as the deck run Southsea squidface, its value is assured most on the time on turn 4 if deadly poison was not drawn.
Aggro Mulligans
Deadly Poison is good to keep because we have at least four damages boost for the bane. Kingsbane is maybe too slow to keep if it's sure that is aggro, because this is efficiency on turn 4 average. Edwin VanCleef with preparation, a classic. Obviously this deck aim control decks, and the early game is a little hard against aggro, that's why there is some reason to cut Leeching poison to put a Shaku, the collector for the presence in early game for exemple.
Control Mulligans
Against control, the goal is to set up the most quickly. Prep is a good keep since the deck run Sprint.
Finally a deck that use the potential of Kingsbane . I’ve watched a lot of deck, and there was often good ideas but the structure wasn’t enough to create a true identity to the deck. It is explained by Kingsbane is long to set up and as a weapon win condition aims the burst, involving both stamina and aggro.
The deck is built around Evasion. Its global role is to gain time to set up Kingsbane. Evasion swing the different phases of the archetype, between defense and attack.
It allows to play Sprint and Elven Minstrel to draw an answer to the opponent board the next turn with Vilepine, an AoE or some removals. That’s why i put Blade Flurry , wich becomes amazing with Kingsbane and Cavern Shinyfinder . It’s a good tool to gain huge tempo, cleaning the board for pushing damage face.
Evasion synergise well with Sudden Betrayal , giving a 50/50 to escape a lot of damage if the opponent believe in Sudden Betrayal and test the secret with cheap damage, or dealing an AoE while saving life if the opponent want to deal big damage in one hit. It is finally the best counter to Shadowreaper Anduin .
Cheat Death is here instead of Shadowstep not only to involve battlecry but also bodies and deathrattles. If the opponent decide to not trade and push damage face then evasion is here to stop the assault. Continue to push damage face with a minion is in the optic of the deck anyway. Edwin Vancleef, Southsea Squidface, Lotus assassin are good target to cheat death. The first is playable with on turn 3 with a preparation and comeback in the hand at one mana after he removes it, the second gives extra weapon damage while the third assure extra damage with the stealth and can be stay stealth if an another target for cheat death is wanted. Lotus Assassin is also good on Evasion, and serve the same purpose to deal damage without a targetable board.
