Mulligans

General Mulligans

Unite the Murlocs:  You always want to play this turn 1. Always.

Bluegill Warrior:  Use this to start putting pressure on your opponent.

Call in the finishers: The best card if you want to rush for megafin.

Murloc Tidehunter:   Counts as 2 towards megafin.

Primalfin Lookout:  Great if you think u can activate the effect.

Ice Fishing, Coldlight: Draw. You're gonna need it.

Brrrloc: A good card for stalling, as well as gaining tempo early.

This deck is my try to predict how a murloc shaman deck might look in KFT. Whether or not aggro decks overrun the meta like they have for the last few years depends in large part, in my opinion, on how pirate warrior, face hunter and murloc shaman do in the new expansion. It seems pirate warrior is going to remain relatively unchanged, and blizz is going in HARD on control hunter to try and make it better than its aggro counterparts, but I think that murloc shaman has a lot of its weaknesses fixed in this expansion, so I predict that if any aggro deck will work in this expansion (at least in standard), it will be this one.

Draw

First of all, and perhaps most importantly, the addition of ice fishing gives the deck some much-needed consistency in comparison to its Un’goro version. Previously you were generally stuck in one of three scenarios: either you got  Megafin early, usually through some combination of call in the finishers and murloc tidehunter (although finja also works for this), you get some early draw from coldlight and go on from there, or you run out of steam early, usually leading to a loss.  Ice Fishing makes this a lot better, as doubling your early draw potential makes the deck a lot more consistent in the early game, and helps you transition to the mid and late game when you want to finish with megafin and so on.

Thrall

Turns out that the shaman death knight is more or less perfect for murloc shaman. Usually, the big problem for aggro decks are that they run out of steam once the mid game rolls around, meaning that they generally have to rely on snowballing their way to victory from the very start of the game.  Thrall, Deathseer has the potential to change this, especially in a body heavy deck like this one. With the ability to almost instantly fill the board through cards like  Call in the Finishers Finja, the Flying Star and  Murloc Tidehunter, the double evolve included in  Thrall, Deathseer is going to be that much more effective, and the subsequent change in heropower will then hopefully let you continue to snowball, and transition into the late game, if the card doesn’t win you the game outright with a sudden burst of damage.

Conclusion

With consistency problems largely being fixed through ice fishing, and the deck receiving some nice scaling through Thrall, I think this has the potential for being the best aggro deck in KFT, if the anti aggro given to other classes doesn’t kill the decktype outright.
