“Druids counter” ROFL, duids only countered by himself
Just reached rank 5 with a variant of this deck; very solid. Be prepared to play a lot of Druids (both aggro/Jade) and Priests. Remember that as a midrange deck, if you lose board control you’ve likely lost the game. Against control, don’t overextend into boardclears and know when to switch to face.
Card replacements:
As people have mentioned, Finja can be used to fill the board and heavily pressure your opponent (because the deck runs so many buffs). With its stealth, it’s a fairly reliable buff target. It’s often a win-more card, though, and doesn’t impact the board the turn it’s played.
A card I’ve been having some success with is Skelemancer. Obviously it’s a terrible card when you’re behind, but not only does it deter your opponent from throwing out a boardclear, it almost always guarantees you a Spikeridged Steed target next turn. In other words, it’s an excellent curve-out card and provides some protection against the numerous boardclears control decks have. Definitely worth consideration.
Uther of the Ebon Blade: you may argue that such an expensive, control-oriented card has no place in a midrange deck (which may be already running Tirion and/or Lich King). That’s a valid argument, but note that not only does the DK help you stabilize, it also gives you a 5/3 weapon to swing at your opponent’s face. That’s a lot of pressure and can help you close out a game you might otherwise have lost. The problem is knowing which card to cut. I cut a Bonemare, but you could probably cut a Blessing of Kings.
Stonehill Defender is incredible in Paladin. You’ll often get multiple Tarims and Tirions, and even an extra Righteous Protector can protect your board from getting cleared while you push more damage. I didn’t run the Corpsetaker package and did pretty well against aggro.
Great list to ladder with that has a fair chance against most decks. Good luck!
Plays pretty well. I took out Lich King. A lot of times his spells are garbage and don’t really help. They seem to be win more cards. I took out Lich King and added Ragnaros Lord of Light. Those late game heals can be vital, especially against mages with all of their freezes. Rag is a soft taunt as well. With Rag, Curator isn’t needed for taunt. Substituted Curator with Finja.
Why not Finja instead of curator?
I see finja more like a deck accelerator so you can have better draws the problem is that if fin doesn’t give you a warleader prety much any class can clean the table easy.
Don’t really want craft Burnbristle since he rotates with old gods. Could Finja and a Deadscale Knight or two be worked in insteadm
You would be doing yourself a disservice! With him in the deck, it also buffs your Corpsetakers to incredible value.
Wickerflame is Gadgetzan, not Old Gods. You have an extra year with him.
Both Gadgetzan and Old Gods will rotate out at the same time.
Good vs Druid but I’m surprised there’s no Finja. Perhaps sub in for a Blessing of Kings?
Or bone mare.
I think swap finja in for the lich king, i dont think this deck needs that much top end
I subbed in Ragnaros Lord of Light in for Lich King. A lot of times Lick King gives me garbage cards and heals seem to be more important. Plus Rag is a soft taunt. I’ve had mages finish me off with a Lich King on the board.
