I decided to start exploring some of the underused archetypes all the classes have to offer to create some fun new decks. I started with Rogue since it is my favorite class and I started with wild because it has the most variety of cards to pick from. My plan is to do one or two decks a week, spend a couple days refining them, and then post my final list here and in other forums to get some community feedback. Without further a due lets get to my first deck Jade Rogue.

This deck actually turned out a lot stronger than I expected and actually helped me climb from Rank 9 to 3 on wild ladder over the last couple weeks. My first versions of Jade rogue had more of a control focus with Valeera the Hollow and N’Zoth but after a lot of play testing I realized that a tempo/midrange build was much stronger. This is the final list I settled on.

There are really a few ways you can win the game with this deck. Primary win condition is quickly generating larger and larger Jade Golems and overwhelming your opponent. This is your best win condition against anything that is not aggro or tempo.  This deck generates Jade Golems faster than both Druid or Shaman can due to the large amount of synergies and combos available. It does take some practice and planning a few turns ahead but once you master the deck it is disgusting how fast your Jades can grow.

The second win condition is similar to Cube Rogue/Hunter in standard and revolves around triggering your eggs multiple times and creating tempo swings. This is the second best strategy against control decks and is pretty effective against midrange and aggro decks when fighting for board control. This line of play relies heavily on Nerubian Egg ,Devilsaur Egg , Necrium Blade   and Unearthed Raptor

The final strategy only really works in the aggro matchup and basically revolves around leveraging Mistress of Mixtures  and Plated Beetle  and copying their deathrattles while controlling the board and exhausting your opponents resources. In these match ups roll the bones can be very clutch allowing you to dump your cheap minions on the board and then refill your hand and win the resource game

Which strategy you pick depends on which matchup you face as well as what your opening hand looks like.

Possible Substitutions:

I have considered playing Zombie Chow over Mistress, the extra health might make a big difference for board control

I have also thought of replacing Dollmaster Dorian with Umbra. Dorian has awesome synergy with roll the bones but Umbra can also pull off some ridiculous combos

Please feel free to try the deck out and give me some feedback. Also if anyone is interested in a mulligan guide or a more detailed gameplay guide let me know in the comments and I will add one. Next week I plan n tackling Mech Rogue so stay tuned.

This seems like a really fun deck. I haven’t built it yet because of insufficient dust, but I am planning to. I was wondering if you are still goin to do a detailed gameplay guide on it.

Well this deck is a blast to play honestly. I have not tried it at higher ranks as I’m currently lowish but in 18 games i lost 3 times. The losses were against Mill Rogue (A hard game to win as you are deathrattle oriented and if they know how to use sap and vanish then they can stall long enough to mill), Quest Warrior (A disciple of RNGesus who was blessed with special powers no mortal should ever even comprehend), and a Face Hunter (Just a matter of who got better draw). It’s not a large sample size so take it with small portions of salt. It seems to be able to stand a chance against almost every deck I’ve played against, even if you think you’re bound to lose. I just won against a Quest Rogue that took around 20 minutes because I was able to keep filling my board with Carnivorous Cube and Baron Rivendare. Dollmaster Dorian and Roll The Bones can have good synergy like mentioned but Umbra seems like a much better card to try out, Dollmaster would be my first switch and then maybe drop an Unearthed Raptor. I like to mulligan for an egg to start with because you have so many activators to start getting a little pressure on the board, sometimes the fear what’s coming and kill it for you only for another egg to hit the board. So I try to start most games with an egg and then move onto Jades if they are a slower deck or if I have nothing else to do. Oh a risky play that can almost guarantee you a game is here, and it seems to show up quite often:
    T2-Cavern Shinyfinder
T3-Necium Blade + Hold weapon charge until later unless necassary
T4-Egg + Swing to get ready to activate
    T5-Baron Rivendare + Break weapon
That’s a very good couple of turns and you can use the weapon to control the board if you need to use it. There are plenty of small differences you can do to adjust this combo like coining out Cavern Shinyfinder or a Nerubian Egg on T1 so you can pop with Baron Rivendare on T4. If you don’t get the weapon then you can play Carnivorous Cube on T5 after you played Baron Rivendare T4 to act as an activator and a big threat if they can’t effectively control it. Of course Unearthed Raptor on T3 after you played a decent T2 deathrattle is always a good play as well. This deck is really versatile. And it comes with the obvious bonus of being sticky against board clears. This comment is all over the place and I apologize if you read all of this so far. Umm what else, Roll The Bones seems to draw either nothing or 2-3 cards when you play it. Make sure you think about how you want to save your cards to combo later, Jade Shuriken can be used to kill some of your own minions to pop their deathrattle if you run out of steam. If you’ve played other deathrattle focused decks you shouldn’t have much trouble piloting this. Sonja can end the game in 1 turn if you have a good board, don’t be afraid to make some less than efficient trades if it means you can make more jades or get more cubes going. Necrium Vile is a decent one of I think in this deck as it’s very useful when you’ve been waiting for an activator while your opponent is having their way with you. I would not recommend cubing an egg if you can wait a bit, you might not be bale to do anything with these eggs and they’ll fill your board. Instead think about cubing that 4/1 damaged minion or an 8/8 jade golem. If you do something like this then a raptor has so much value in it as well. Anyway this deck is entertaining and effective, I didn’t go over mulligans and I probably left out some other stuff like specific matchups but I’ve been rambling about everything I could think of for way too long and I’m going to end it here. Congrats for making it through my potato salad. Forgive my spelling mistakes and whatnot.

Oh snap I forgot I would not recommend swapping Mistress Of Mixtures out for Zombie Chow because it seems like you can keep control very well in the beginning with your cheap minions. Also it is very important to keep yourself alive if you fell behind with Mistress or the Beetle. Bloodmage also feels like it could be dropped, I did not have many issues with card draw and hand size and the spell damage only helps once every couple of games with FoC, even then it’s usually just a small help. I never need to try to copy his deathrattle either. Just a thought but I know he’s a staple in a lot of decks. Could be worth trying Umbra here instead.

Thanks for trying the deck! Glad you have enjoyed it. Definitely agree with bloodmage being replacable dont think he is core by any means. I actually have performed very well against quest warrior but i will admit its not an easy matchup because you need to build boards that play around all of the different removal options. Jades are definitely key in that matchup and making as many as possible. Face hunter is definitely an unfavored matchup and you play that matchup very differently than any other matchup just trying to survive and maintaining board controll while copying mistress of mixtures and scarabs effects as many times as possible. Hunter will run out of resources before you and thats your win condition. Zilliax is an awesome anti aggro tech that i habe been experimenting with as well and a solid cube target. Thanks again for the comment and all the insight, i think you made a lot of good points on how to play the deck

Deck is straight garbage. No card draw. Even with Roll the Bones. Mulligan or bust.

I mean I have had a lot of success with the deck and I rarely run out of resources. Roll the bones usually draws at least two, fan of knives cycles itself and bloodmages effect can be copied. You can sub in loot horders or elven minstrells if your really struggling but i really dont think you need them. Is there any specific match up you are losing to due to card draw? Have you actually been playing the deck or is this just an observation?

Oddly I’ve been trying something similar recently – but more control-oriented, so yes it has Valeera and N’Zoth but also Sylvanas who can occasionally be MvP (especially with Necrium Vial)…

Funny thing though – you very rarely get to use N’Zoth as you’ve normally flattened your opponent with Jolly Green Giants long before. Best thing is beating Jade Druids with much bigger Jades than they’ve managed to amass 🙂

Haha yeah thats one of the reasons jade Druid is one of my favorite matchups! Really fun to beat them at their own game. The slower Nzoth version is definitely alot of fun and I actually enjoy playing that version more just happened to have a higher winrate personally with this one.

What is the deck list you guys are speaking of? I am strictly a rogue class player trying to get every deck possible. I lack wild decks though. Have a lot of the cards I need just no decks in my list at the moment.

Doesn’t Zombie Chow just heal the opponent?

Yeah thats why i currently run mistress but what i meant is the fact that chow has 3 health instead of two. That extra 1 health goes a long way sometimes when making earl game trades for board controll.
