Mulligans

General Mulligans

Mulligans are probably one of the main reasons why I'm only an average HS player, so I won't go into details here, but these are certainly the three cards you will want to star with in most mach-ups.

Aggro Mulligans

Mistress of Mixtures, Lightning Storm, Healing Rain and Thing from Below are all good keepers against aggro. Against decks that keep filling the board (such as most Paladins these days), you might want to keep Volcano if you didn't get Lightning Storm.

Control Mulligans

Against greedy decks that like to have a lot of cards in their hand, you might want to keep Shudderwock as well if you're pretty sure you're going to need him. That way, you can punish them via Coldlight Oracle and allow yourself to burn a card or two without risking to lose your main win condition for those match-ups.

This is the most fun I’ve had with any deck in a very long time. When Shudderwock was revealed, I immediately thought of building a jade deck with it for wild. So far, it hasn’t disappointed. Except for very fast aggro deck, I’ve won my share of games against pretty much anything the wild ranked meta (Ranks 21 to 9 so far – yes, 21, I hadn’t played Wild for a few months before making this deck) has thrown at me. I’d be curious to see how it does at Rank 5 or beyond, so feel free to let me know if anyone tries it there. Personally, I’ve never put in the effort to rank beyond 5 and I stop at 10 almost every month.

Unlike the infamous standard combo deck, you don’t need to play Shudderwock every game. In fact, you won’t need it at all most of the time unless you’re going against a slow or fatigue deck. I found the best way to use him is to wait until you’ve “battlecried” at least 4 or 5 jade golems, including at least one from Jade Chieftain so that you can get a taunt. Having brought back at least one of your Jade Claws with is also a good idea, so that if you get Twisting Nether’ed or something, you have a cheap way to quickly spawn a very big golem on the next turn.

Oh, and don’t be like me. Don’t just check the size of your golems to count how many battlecries you’ve used. Jade Lightning is not a battlecry, and remember that extra golems from Bran or Murmuring Elemental don’t count either. And be wary of any Coldlight Oracles played before Shudderwock. You don’t want to damage yourself from fatigue if you play it too late. Or you may want to play him when your opponent has a full hand so that you can watch a few of their cards fly away into nothingness.

Please leave some comments if you try the deck. And sorry for rambling on for that long!
