Ideally, these are the cards you're looking for in your opener for some early control. If you're playing Mind Control Tech on turn 3 and can play Shadow Madness turn 4 into Holy Nova/EE on turn 5, then you have probably won (also having Shadow Priest on turn 6 is hitting the last nail into the coffin)
I tried the Heroic Mage deck listed on this site several times with no victory, so I decided to create my own deck for the boss. The idea is to use cards like Mind Vision, Shadow Madness, MC Tech, and Cabal Shadow Priest to steal the 2/2 minions from him so that he loses them permanently and gets no benefit from them whatsoever. This deck might be a bit unpolished as I sort of threw it together, but it only took me 2 tries to beat the boss with this list, so I’m posting it in case anybody else is having the same trouble I was having.
