Handlock is one of the few decks that relies heavily on its Hero Power. The deck tends to spend its early turns using Hero Power and gathering cards until turn 4 to unleash a Twilight Drake or Mountain Giant. Handlock ends up being a balancing act of keeping yourself out of range of being burst down, but keeping your health low enough to get cheap Molten Giants that can be taunted with cards like Sunfury Protector or Defender of Argus.

Handlock Warlock Tech Cards

Zombie Chow is added to the deck to stop aggro. Ragnaros the Firelord goes in and out of the deck with Lord Jaraxxus. Ragnaros can work due to the fact that the deck already contains many Big Game Hunter targets.

I ve been playing handlock for a few days as i just crafted the missing parts of the deck, but damn i can t get it work!!! I changed it a little, making it anti aggro with 2 chows, 2 darkbombs, and 2 healbots, but i m still gettin shreked. I even run twisting nether as my last resort, but most of the times, aggro gets me. Is handlock even good at low ranks, below 10? Am i doing something wrong? Help..

Handlock is not an easy deck to play, I would recommend looking up some footage of people running it on ladder(Strifecro has A LOT of footage on his channel) and just pay attention to how they play out their turns and how they set up their subsequent turns.

Trump also has a video tutorial on playing handlock as well. But don’t lose faith, it’s a very good deck, but it’s kind hard when you’re starting out.

Which cards did you cut for the two Zombie Chow? The other cards are included in this decklist.
Twisting Nether is a terrible card as you can hardly drop any minions after clearing the board and cannot use it before turn 8, which is too late. Stick to Hellfire and Shadowflame as boardclears (3 in total is a good number).

Against Aggro, your plan is to set up big Taunt creatures, heal out of their reach with Healbots and Jaraxxus and race them with Molten Giants.
Early on, you have to forgo some value in order to stay alive. This means that you should try to get on the board ASAP, even if this means to sometimes play a Sunfury Protector as a vanilla 2/3. You should not Life Tap unless it is neccessary or you do not have anything to play. Mulligan for the early-drop creatures (up until Twilight Drake) as well as the cheap removal spells and the boardclears. In the mid-game, try to play as tempo-efficient as possible.

Lord Jaraxxus (preferred) or Alexstraza make a good replacement for one of the Legendaries. The other should be substituted by another early-game card like Zombie Chow, the second Ironbeak Owl, Mind-Control Tech or even an Earthen Ring Farseer.

That being said, Emperor Thaurissan is really good in Handlock because of the discount making your oftentimes clunky cards in hand much easier to get on the board. Prioritize getting him if you plan on using Handlock in the long run.

Lord jaraxx is better than RAG its more flexable And gives you time to fill the battlefield with inferno and gives you a chance to get taunted or shadowflame

jaraxx has been useful in long fatigue games…. even when all the cards are gone you can just tap the hero power.
