Mulligans
An interesting, somewhat different warrior deck I am currently using (quite succesfully) on my climb to legend. So far, got from rank 4 to rank 2 with 67% winrate. Deck is a control oriented, using strong warrior defensive tools in combination with dragons that can sometimes simply out tempo the opponent. The deck also features Hakkar to combat various combo/Mecha’thun decks and other control decks.
At first I was playing one copy of explore un’goro to destroy the corrupted bloods. However, based on experience, that was often unnecessary and more often than not, it remained a dead card in my hand. In match ups where it would be useful (against control), I usually managed to get either explore un’ goro or dead Man’s hand from firetree witchdoctor. Both help you to maintain upper hand in regards to fatique/corrupted bloods. In addition, I was also experimenting with dragon roar due to obvious dragon synergies, however the card felt really bad. Sure, there were some upside moments, like getting duskbreaker against zoo, but those were very few. Two possible solid additions to the deck are also alexstrasza and grommash as late game finishers.
Deck in post-rotation
I strongly believe some version of this deck might be a decent candidate for one of the better control decks after rotation. Of course we still have to see majority of cards from new expension. However, in my opinion, those cards can only make the deck stronger. This deck is already almost rotation proof, only losing blood razor, primordial drake and lich king. Altough, they are all very strong cards, they can be replaced. Current good replacements are:
- blood razor -> omega assembly, eternium rover or some other anti-aggro cards,
- primordial drake -> second dragonmaw scorcher or alexstrasza,
- lich king -> grommash hellscream.
I will try to update the list with the cards from new expansion.
