Felic Demon hunter

The standard Fel Relic Demon Hunter with Smothering Starfish included over Xhilag of the abyss. The problem with Xhilag is that it’s super expensive at 7 mana, meaning it often just hangs around in your hand and you have to play it on curve, and then you are dealing 8 end of turn damage randomly spread across four weak bodies. Felic DH is built on capitalizing on explosive turns, and Xhillag doesn’t really help with that much if it’s just sitting in your hand. Even if you get it discounted, you have to make board space for all of its stalks to get full value.

Smothering Starfish is a far superior and useful card. The Starfish can bring back your momentum against several disadvantageous matchups including Aggro Druid and Freeze Mage. If you get frustrated when your impressive-looking boards of Fleeting Spirits get frozen over and over, the Starfish can solve that problem for you and let you do more with less board space.
