This was hands down the most difficult week for me and creating Basic decks for Tavern Brawl. You cannot play this Brawl like you would a normal value Mage. If you’re making all of the trades they will eventually overwhelm you. I found Fireball to be a huge tempo loss and had to cut it. You need to be playing minions nearly every turn while trying to keep their minion count down. The cards that I found helped with this were Ironforge Rifleman and Stormpike Commando. There are going to be a lot of low health minions and these kill them while putting a body on the board that has a Deathrattle.
If you don’t have an efficient trade you should go face and let them make the trades. If they make the first trade into your minions then you generally get the benefit of whatever minion spawns out of the Deathrattle. You can’t just play Flamestrike on turn 7 and hope to win. You need to save it for a really full board that will get you a lot of value. In most cases you should just play more minions from your hand if you aren’t going to get at least a few minions with the AOE.
There are constantly minions on the board so Frostwolf Warlord will become a big asset when played. You’re going to see a lot of Mind Control Tech and unfortunately there’s not much you can do to play around it. Polymorph should be saved for premiere minions, and using it on a turn you can play another minion is best. I wish you all luck with this week!
Are you trolling??? Why the fuck would you suggest a deck with nothing but vanilla cards? I thought the brawl effect must be overwriting the cards effect but no. This is just a deck with every card worth 1 mana less than everything else in the meta, and zero synergy. If your reading this folks, build ANYTHING else.
This is for people who are starting out and don’t have many cards…?
I just beat a Reno Warlock with this deck.
He had so many extra legendary cards and this is just a basic deck.
Amazing!
