Swap skulking giest for baron geddon. I’m at rank 4 currently and skulking is rarely eliminating any useful cards for opponents in fact most run skulking themselves. Baron geddon played with lifesteal from frost Lich in late game gives some much needed survivability in longer matches.
Try it out
Nice remark
I’ve played this deck completely unaltered and went from rank 19 to 13 in the same day (still going), only losing once. Mind you, this deck is completely in my preferred play style and I’ve been playing Hearthstone for quite some time. Two different people can play the same deck and get widely different outcomes. For example, using frost nova then dropping a doomsayer. I rarely do that, instead dropping a 2 cost ‘decoy’ minion and THEN dropping the doom sayer as early as possible in order to push the rounds farther into the late game, where I can use my removal spells more effectively and with more choice. If they destroy the doomsayer, I still have a minion. If they don’t, the minion would have gotten owned anyway trying to remove their board.
If I can, I’ll use doom sayer about 1 turn apart, doing it twice to push as far as I can into the late game. Most of the time only 1 ever gets used in a game due to draw order.
I’ve won three times just from using frost nova end game to wittle down that last bit of health. If they have 8/8 minions but can’t attack 3 turns in a row from frost novas and blizzards, it’s a looot harder to win. 😉
This deck is absolutely useless in the current meta. Gets pwned by almost any other deck, specially other control decks since you struggle to gain board control and when you get to use Lich Jaina it’s already too late to stabilize with a single Ice Block and no other healing than Pyros or your spell power summoned elementals.
I’ve jumped 5 ranks today with this deck, smashing through murloc pallies, and every type of rogue ever. (This deck is SICK against rogues.) It can summon 8/8 minions in burst toward the end to keep up with jade druid after having played the skulking geist, or fall back on a freeze-mage type win where you prevent your opponent from attacking in the first place.
Given you had the cards to make this deck, you’re obviously a skilled player. I would suggest finding something that’s more in your play style with a class that you really like. Two people can play the same deck dramatically differently, so the way I force the game into the end hoarding every control spell might not be the way someone else is dropping blizzard directly on turn 6, flame striking minions with 5 health and trying to use a valet on them, ya feel me?
This is where you’re completely wrong, control mage is as strong as ever although maybe not as strong as tempo rogue, it still has a solid place in the meta. Currently rank 2 using a list that has more removal (Theo’s list) and am having good match ups against all decks except hunter which is around 40-60. I think people are just plain playing it wrong which is why a lot of people lose a lot. You need to identify your win condition such as keeping Jaina against priest or keeping doomsayer against aggro as well as keeping in mind trends in the meta. Lots of people still play doomsayer plus freeze for board clear even though this will NEVER work in the current meta as all decks runs silence atm. Dont bash the deck, bash the players
Probando. Gracias Evangelion.
Mage is dead 🙁 The deck is good but difficult to break into top-5 with this in current meta.
I was hitting ranks 3 and 2 consistently for the past 2 months …
Only missing Skulking Geist, Is it worth the craft?
Yea but really only need one copy
Yes, yes, and more yes. (Been playing this deck constantly.) Not only does skulking geist provide the only means to win against jade druid with such a late game finisher (this deck can go to fatigue easily and I’ve beaten 2 rogues just by fatiguing them to death), a lot of people are playing stone hill defenders. You only have a handful of card based minions with this deck and skulking geist can almost always live at least 2 rounds, giving your opponent something to chew on and allowing you to help set up for a flame strike or prepare for the transition to late game.
Why not counterspell instead of mana bind. Mana bind still allows their spell to go off and just gives you a copy. I would think counterspell is more disruptive to their potential play.
Evangelion representando a todo hispanoparlante. Proud of the dude.
Water Elemental is probably best since it is an elemental like the pyros and gives you a decent 4 drop.
What’s the point of mana bind instead of second Ice Block?
2nd ice block isn’t needed 90% of the time.
You have a lot of removal so the game plan is to survive until Jaina and have constant heals/board pressure with elementals. The ice block is only there as a back up plan.
Hi Evident!
I could’ve written this comment under any decklist on this site … for some time now I wonder if those lists would be readable better if you’d swap positions of cost and quantity of the cards?
Apart from that I think it’s super that you separate class and neutral cards!
Keep up the good work,
with best regards
Maybe just label each column at the top? Even if it was just an abreviation like M for mana and # or Q for quantity.
Also I don’t know if anything can be done about this, but you can not read the full deck name on Mobil devices. It gets cut off due to the size of it. Would wrapping that text or adjusting that cell help?
It would be nice to be able to read the full deck name, because sometimes I click on the decks and they aren’t what I expect.
Replacement for Pyros? I have all the other cards, and was wondering if there’s a decent replacement, since I’ve seen versions of this deck without it.
Probably tar creeper. Pyros is just a value card in the deck, so you can really sub just about whatever you want. My reccomendation would be something cheaper!
He said pyros was very remplacable , put a Gluttonous Ooze or a second area
What about a water elemental instead of pyros?
Like January said, Pyro is a value card.
Putting in something else like Elise could work.
Of course, you could also put in an anti-SMORC card like Tar creeper or Golakka Crawler if you find that 90% of your games are versus aggro.
Keep in mind that all these decks are build with the creators’ play style in mind, yours is probably different, so you might need a slightly different decklist. Don’t be afraid to change things up, or experiment at a ranked floor (15, 10, 5).
