Mulligans
General Mulligans
This deck lives and dies by it's Mulligan, pretty much. Dig for your cheap minions. Against aggro, you can keep your best defensive tools (Tar Creeper/Lightning Storm).
An underexplored l’il archetype that’s fun to play and perfectly competent for laddering with. With the right curve, you can take on basically any deck out there.
Plop down lots of minions while keeping your hand full with random elementals. Make good trades and push lots of face damage with cheap buff cards. Finish off the match with Bloodlust. If you get in a pinch, Thunderhead or Kalimos, Primal Lord can refill your board very quickly. Hagatha the Witch, Electra Stormsurge, and your cheap removal spells pick apart your opponent’s lategame board.
Fire Fly, Flametongue Totem, and Menacing Nimbus are vitally important early game cards. Coining into two 1/2s and following it up with Flametongue is an incredible opener! Earthen Might is also good to play on a Fire Fly, especially against classes that can’t punish tall boards.
Voltaic Burst in combo with Flametongue is also very strong. They spawn on the rightmost part of your board, so try to keep more minions stacked to the left side of Flametongue to maximize the utility of Voltaic Burst. Thunderhead’s tokens spawn to its left and right, so keep that in mind too for placement.
You’re almost sure to have Bloodlust(s) by turn 6 or so- if you stayed ahead on board, Bloodlust is usually game, as always. If you’re behind on board, carefully Tempo into Kalimos and flood the board with 1/1s- you’re opponent has to remove them, or die to bloodlust.
The Storm Bringer can save your life, but is still very hard to pull off. It’s mostly nice against Druid- if he gets a good Spreading Plague in, Bloodlust is just shy of letting your 1/1s kill his scarabs. If you’d rather run another Thunderhead in this slot, that’s just fine. In fact, probably all of the legends in this deck can be replaced with another Tar Creeper or Lightning Storm or Thunderhead, making for a nice budget deck. Do try to have Kalimos though- he’s just too perfect for this gameplan.
This deck is not good, may as well play even shaman, it’s more fun, better win rate and still has several elementals.
Definitely wouldn’t argue it’s better than Even Shaman, this is for if you’re in the mood to Bloodlust pretty much
