which cards in this deck are the flex spots that you can swap out? i’m thinking of using “the darkness” that i pulled for anti-raza, thoughts?
Can any body explain how this deck does the OTK ? Thanks!
The OTK is not really your win condition. My problem starting out with this deck was thinking I had to do this every game. Really the OTK should be your goal against control decks. Regardless the combo goes like this: You need to tap until you have umbra, the weapon, dark pact, doomguard and cube in hand. To perform the combo you need to equip your weapon with a doomguard in hand. At the start of your turn it will pull the doomguard from your hand. You then attack with it, play your umbra, then eat it with your cube and dark pact the cube. The combo requires 10 mana and will ultimately do 25 damage in one turn. It sounds like lot of setup but with the warlock hero power it is a viable win condition against control decks like raza priest that look to stall you out and then combo you down. Against aggro decks your win condition will almost always be survival until you can land voidlords to grind them out. Hope this helps!
Against my razakus priest 10-0
We should call this deck hungrylock.
It’s a good name. I like it a lot.
This deck should be Called hungrylock you’re eating everything with the cubes and Azari.
Hmm, nothing in the 3-mana slot…
Talderam on Cube value? lmao
Wait… And otk deck I have the pieces for! This truly is a Christmas miracle given my limited legendaries!
I think I’m blind. Where does the OTK come from?
OK. Nevermind. I got it 😉
Shud I disenchant all my cards to make this deck? xD
Is there any replacement for umbra?
Nope. Umbra is one of the otk pieces and while this deck can win without the otk there isn’t a reason to build it without one of the otk pieces
Best Warlock Control deck. Thanks DOG 🙂
This deck is so strong, first, it has the OTK potential sure, but can easily win games through it’s extremely effective control/removal functions – even the BEST decks don’t often have this many win conditions, I see at least 3 in this one 1) OTK with Skull/Doomguard/Cube/Spiritsinger/Dark Pact , 2) Rin / Control , 3) Tempo / Value game using Gul’dan and Cubes, 4) Fatigue, utilizing massive value of Rin, Voidlords, and Bloodreaver Gul’dan to push opponent to fatigue. EXTREMELY strong deck.
Definitely, it would just feel so good even to just used possed lackey with this! You either get a 5/7 charge or 3/9 taunt!
In addition, if you just want to stall, carnivorous cube a Voidlord for a total of a 45 health shield!
What should you Mulligan for?
Depends on what you’re facing. Against most things MoM, Beetle and Librarian are decent keeps. Defile is great against Paladins and aggro decks. Mortal Coil is pretty good against most aggro decks as well, Tempo Rogue in particular. If I have Librarian or Hellfire in hand I’d consider keeping the spellstone. Against Priest I’d consider keeping Lackey to either cheat demons out or soak a silence.
What’s the otk?
Not otk but a lot of burst damage :
Pull doomguard with your weapon -> play umbra->play cube in doomguard to get 2 doomguard->pact the cube for 2 more doomguard for a total of 25 damage
If you manage to get your Voidlords polymorphed you can use cubes and Umbra to produce a bunch of Doomguards, get them killed, and then use DK to resummon 7 (x5 = 32 damage). I somehow managed to do this tonight, it was very satisfying.
7×5=32?
Whoops, 35. I are bad mathing
Substitute for Rin?
She is a second win condition so not essential to the deck, replace her with more removals
Most decks are running x2 Beetle instead of Rin.
I was playing 2 beetles and
A. Felt 1 was enough. It’s a decent body and any healing/armor is good in lock but running 2 seemed like a bad draw waiting to happen come end game.
B. Saw no reason why this deck shouldn’t be running Rin. The Alternate win condition is huge and it can help you stall until you pull all of the combo pieces.
Not dusting Spirit Singer Umbra has finally paid off, always felt like that card could be better in an upcoming set than it was in Un’goro. Didn’t expect to have to wait through KotFT for it to finally be useful.
N’zoth.
