This deck isn’t as powerful as the other Mage deck, but still I’d consider it quite strong, I’ve usually won with it. It is essential to keep the Celestial Emissaries in hand at all times unless you can make a real difference with them: Boost a Fireball for the kill, or get “Unexpected Results” to really high values, or if you’re desperate clear the enemy’s board with some of the other spells with them. Don’t waste them on something small, you’re better off just pinging the enemy’s face with your hero power and wait for the killing blow than playing them because you can.
Reporting back – it is actually doable, however early aluneth is key to winning with this deck, buffed spelldamage, and cheap spells to the face, however you need aluneth to keep up with your opponent – you can easily get a fireball to 8-10 dmg
Has anyone ever tried this deck and won a game? It feels like someone at Blizzard tried their hardest to make a deck that’s incapable of generating any real threats, has no card value, almost no burst, has no hard removal, no win criteria, and no real direction. They just said “Stars are cool, let’s put every star related card in a deck and say go”. But if you’re up against a deck that loves playing 1 health minions and nothing else you’ll probably do great. I’m at 10% winrate. The rogue I beat conceded when I pinged his face on turn 2, but a win is a win.
I just played with this deck, and i honestly didnt know what to say – came here for a comment like yours, glad to know i didn’t just play bad
This deck is actually viable if you can get early aluneth, use shooting stars with spell damage to board clear
