Mulligans
General Mulligans
Generally, you should just want your early game drops. Nothing too complicated.
Aggro Mulligans
The classic Auchenai-Circle combo is great at cleaning up aggressive boards.
This deck was inspired by two recently revealed legendaries for Whispers of the Old Gods: Herald Volazj and N’Zoth. Right now it is just a concept, and refinements will definitely have to be made as new cards are released. Currently, my concept of this deck combines a control strategy with two impactful endgame “combos.” Many of the class cards are very similar to a standard Control Priest decklist. However, the differences really come into play with the neutral minions and Herald Volazj .
- Although Huge Toad ‘s Deathrattle is rather lackluster, it serves as a strong 3/2 body that can be summoned early for board presence and resummoned in the endgame.
- Loot Hoarder and Polluted Hoarder help draw your combos, and serve as decent bodies when resummoned.
- Anubisath Sentinel and especially Spawn of N'Zoth seem to be hugely impactful in this deck. Since you have N’Zoth to resummon them, it’s relatively fine to have them die on an empty board, as they will be able to come back on a full or near-full board.
- Corrupted Healbot can be comboed with Auchenai Soulpriest for devastating damage to the opponent’s face, and is a strong 6/6 when resummoned.
- Herald Volazj is your first “combo” minion. You want him to duplicate your legendaries and your Deathrattles. Getting 1/1s with powerful Deathrattles can swing the game, and more importantly, possibly (more on that later) fill up your board in the second combo. Alternatively, this first combo can be used to win the game outright when used with Ragnaros the Firelord and Ysera , in case you don’t draw N’Zoth.
- Ragnaros the Firelord and Ysera are sort of your backup plan. You can use them by themselves to set up a win condition, or, as previously stated, combo them with Herald Volazj to devastate your opponent.
- N’Zoth is your “final combo.” He will randomly summon up to 6 (on an empty board) of your Deathrattle minions that have died, including the ones summoned by Herald Volazj. This has a mindblowing amount of possibilities for endgame combinations. For instance, you could have a 1/1 Anubisath Sentinel or Spawn of N'Zoth buff your board, or have a 1/1 Corrupted Healbot do huge damage to the opponents face with Auchenai Soulpriest . Alternatively, if you didn’t have Herald Volazj you will still have a board of strong Deathrattle minions. You will (most likely) have complete board control by that point in the game, and should be able to devastate your opponent.
Otherwise, the deck plays very similarly to Control Priest. Steal their cards, and build up for combo. However, this list is probably far from perfect. Please leave suggestions for improvements of the list in the comments below. I think it is a cool concept for a deck, and it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out once Whispers of the Old Gods is released.
I play hearthstone about a year. I tried many conseptions. I can tell you it’s really not that good when you put 2 winning conditions together. It’s like the tempo storms . Tier 4 decks. You can sometimes win really cool games with this deck, but most of the time ull loose because of the bad sinergy between the Volazh and Nzoth conseptions
Yeah, I agree that this deck would definitely be played more for fun, but I just wanted to throw this idea out there, really. I also could definitely see the Volazj/N’Zoth anti-synergy, but I feel there are also some really strong synergies between them as well (like resummoning a bunch of Spawn of N’Zoths and getting a huge board they can’t deal with, etc etc etc). So yes, you’re correct, this deck will most likely prove ineffective, but the wins that will be pulled off will be incredible and a ton of fun.
