General Mulligans

Mulligan for this deck is generally always the same regardless of what your opponent is playing, as your only goal in the early game is to control the board as much as possible. As such you want to mulligan for as many cheap cards that provide at least some board presence.

It's hard to say what cards to keep everytime, however in my experience the very best cards to keep are usually as follows:

Obviously anything that will help you control the board will help, but those cards in particular have been the early game winners for me.

A simple yet fun version of deathrattle hunter, utilizing the combo synergy between Carnivorous Cube, and the various high strength deathrattle cards in this deck. Will this deck carry you to legend? Probably not, but it’s still a damn fun deck 🙂

For those interested my winrate with this deck is currently (9-2)

The Combo

This deck’s main strength lies within the the combo potential the aforementioned Carnivorous Cube provides.  Your goal is generally to Cube one of the select targets placed in this deck, then using one of your activators (Play Dead Terrorscale Stalker Spiritsinger Umbra), create a board that is able to constantly refill itself, making even the strongest AOEs a mere inconvenience.

Combo Potential

The various deathrattle cards included in this deck for Cube targets have various strengths and weaknesses, and some are better than others depending on the matchup. I will highlight below the various uses reasons for choosing one Cube target over another below.

  • Corpse Widow – This card is my personal favorite to cube, as the multiple deathrattle reductions allow you to play a number of your high power minions for very cheap. A useful trick to note is that the Widow also affects Cube, allowing you to use it on the Widow itself for only (3) mana!
  • Cairne Bloodhoof/Savannah Highmane – These cards both serve essentially the same purpose when cubed, to create a board that is incredibly sticky and very hard to remove, even with multiple AOEs.
  • Kathrena Winterwisp – This is in my opinion, the weakest Cube target as it will only bring cards OUT of your deck, as opposed to just creating more Tokens on your board. This lessens your late game power, and increases risk of fatigue. Still a good target however, just much more of a situational choice then the other 3.
