General Mulligans

Duskbreaker is essential against aggro.  Only keep Power Word: Shield if I have a low-cost minion.

This deck is a play on the standard mind blast control priest.

What’s different?  This deck gives you more of that thief priest playstyle while still being viable on the ladder.  So, if you’re looking for more of that priestly RPG in your games, this deck might be for you! As you’ll see, most of the core cards from the mind blast control priest are still present. Compared to your standard deck, I feel this variety gives you a slightly better match-up to other long-game decks and a slightly worst match-up to aggro. That’s anecdotal, I don’t have data to suport that.

  • Better against: Druid and Handlock
  • Worst against: Zoo and Paladin

What’s missing?

Wild Pyromancer :  This can make match-ups with paladin and other aggro / early tempo decks more difficult, but not impossible to win.

Acolyte of Pain : Less card draw.

2-3 “Flex slots”: From Scaleworm , to MASS DISPELL to ACIDIC OOZE , you sacrifice some of these control elements.

What’s added?
In essence, more FUN Thief Priest playstyle: playing cards from the opponent’s deck

1x  CHRYSTALLINE ORACLE: early card-draw play, and another early activator of Power Word: Shield

2x Cloning Device: First, this card gives you valuable early intel or your opponent’s deck.  Second, it usually gives you a solid minion. More useful for long-games.

2x Curious Glimmerroot: Solid 3/3, compared to acolyte of pain.  Plus a mini-game in its own right.

1x Archbishop Benedictus: This card is played in a good amount of the tournament decks as it helps against late-game fatigue.

Enjoy!
